Guest synet Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 I used the number in post #1 in this thread, and then selected option 1 (Home user?) and then option 2 (mobile/broadband offers?) and then got connected to an sales advisor.

I tried that combination, must have just been unlucky (twice)
Guest renegade027 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 It did work for me - told them I had an Orange PAYGO SIM already and asked for the discount. She asked me for my Orange number and how much/often do I usually top up. I said I'm not sure as another family member is using the SIM occasionally. No more questions. The SF should be here Friday...
Guest Robert Davidson Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Just rang customer services, spoke to a really nice guy, give him an old number which I havent used in 18 months, not a problem, gave me £30 discount, its being delivered tomorrow, the best expericence with a service number i've ever had. Thanks for the info.
Guest michalis2610 Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 (edited) Hey guys, first post here but long time reader of this forum. Just placed my order after 2 unsuccessful attempts to get the $30 discount last night and earlier today. Called 0800 079 2000 and then option 1 and 2 (as mentioned above). The guy on customer was very nice and friendly, didn't seem to bother the PAYG number I gave him was register on my wife's name (opposed to previous advisors). Really straightforward and fast. Perhaps worth telling from the beginning that you wish to upgrade your old Orange handset and then inquire about the existing PAYG customer loyalty discount (do not mention any figures yet). If they do not offer it then mention that random people get it etc...if nothing works just try again  Will be returning T-Mobile Pulse and hoping to have the SF before the nck promotion finishes on Friday B) Thank you all for your input and of course many thanks for the fantastic job developers do. My old T-Mobile Pulse is totally another phone with the flb_1.6b custom ROM. Edited September 29, 2010 by michalis2610
Guest Bouncer5 Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Just called up she offered me it for £89 quid, Price of the topup is included in that so technically £79 awesome, Now to convince the other half that I need it for when im out on my bike! Incase anything happens, Oh and that she needs a new phone for xmas
Guest chris9181 Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 You gotta love Orange! I am well chuffed, my wifes orange payg phone needed topping up anyway so just bought the SF for me at £79.99 and £10 topped up for my wife. Only shame is that I have to wait til Tues for delivery
Guest deweylewie Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 So could you get a free sim and then use that to be eligible for this 'existing customer upgrade'? Do they check how old the number is and topup amounts? Also, do sim cards get registered to your name/address these days?

They asked me how often I top up, I told them I don't I use it for incoming only, Buisness phone ya know? And well she stopped asking questions

They asked me everything and then checked the account, when they saw i had only just registered it they said no.
Guest Gibbo501 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 If you work for the public sector go in store and they'll do you a 20% discount if you show your pay slip. They also have a leaflet (not on display) which details which workers can get a discount.

They said she had only amassed £8 worth of loyalty bonus but I said that the talk on the forums was that others had been give £20.00 off. He said he would have to go and check and then came back and said no probs.
Guest will7201 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks to the info here, I phoned 0800 079 2000 ext1 ext2 and got through to a pleasant lady straight away. Asked for the PAYG Orange upgrade and she asked for my number. Only then did I find out that it hadn't been registered a year ago like I thought! So, lo & behold, she registered it right then and told me I could have £30 off the San Fran! B) So i'm a really happy bunny today! She said it'll come on Mon' or Tue' but they'll text an hourly slot to the orange sim I have. Brilliant  Will.
Guest Simon O Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Just got off the phone with Orange telesales. Told the guy I was interested in the San Francisco and I've got an Orange number which I got on PAYG back in 2008. I asked if they had any upgrade offers and the guy said he's seen this thread on modaco and the information contained isn't accurate. According to him the discounts are entirely discretional and they cannot offer me anything... What a load of ****
Guest tandeh Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 sent one back because slightly bigger gap on left where battery cover goes, was offered new one as existing customer for 68.99
Guest synet Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 This phone is getting cheaper and cheaper!!

I had to call twice to get the discount - looked at my bank this morning and was charged £78.99 (ordered yesterday morning on phone)

Yeah I did call back and my card was declined twice. Called Barclays fraud to find out why and they tell me that the payment was authorised and received by Orange... Orange are still telling me the payment was declined. So I'm £80 out of pocket, no order, no phone. And I've just wasted money trying to speak to Orange to get it sorted. Not happy.

Guest Simon O Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Bloody hell! That's a headache you could do without, so near but yet so far!!!!!!! Will. Aye it's a pain. I've spoken to them again and placed another order. The first one should return to my bank but if it doesn't then Barclays can recover it. BTW found another discount if people are interested. Go to http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/students and enter the NUS number as 15 zeros (000000000000000) and you'll get 10% off. Drops the phone down to £89.10 plus £10 top-up.

That's very good too know. Any ideas as to whether we can use the quidco cashback on top of this?

Guest will7201 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I was told that after the phone arrives, pop in the SIM and register it at 08000790006, or it will not work. Will.
