Guest finnboy Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 I have internet and can send MMS, but cannot receive. Odd, but not really bothered to be honest.
Guest zuccster Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 attached That's weird, because your telephony.db looks like the stock Orange version, with a couple of added entries for O2: sqlite> select * from carriers; 1|Orange World|20801|208|01|orange|orange||orange||||||3|default,supl||13 2|Orange Internet|20801|208|01|orange.fr|orange||orange||||||3|default||13 3|Orange entreprises|20801|208|01|orange-mib|orange||orange|172.016.002.008|8000||||3|default||13 4|Orange MMS|20801|208|01|orange.acte|orange||orange|||192.168.010.200|8080|http://mms.orange.fr|3|mms||13 5|Orange Internet|23433|234|33|orangeinternet|||||||||3|default||13 6|Orange MMS|23433|234|33|orangemms||||||192.168.224.010|8080|http://mms.orange.co.uk/|3|mms||13 7|Orange SUPL UK|23433|234|33|orangeinternet|||||||||3|supl||13 8|OrangeWorld|21403|214|03|orangeworld|orange||orange|wapgw.orange.es|8080||||3| efault||13 9|Orange MMS|21403|214|03|orangemms|orange||orange|||wapmms.orange.es|8080|http://mms.orange.es|3|mms||13 10|Orange Internet|22803|228|03|internet|||||||||3|default||13 11|Orange MMS|22803|228|03|mms||||||192.168.151.2|8080|http://192.168.151.3:8002|3|mms||13 12|PortalOptimus|26803|268|03|umts||||62.169.66.5|8799||||3|default||13 13|Optimus Internet|26803|268|03|umts|||||||||3|default||13 14|Optimus MMS|26803|268|03|umts||||||62.169.66.5|8799|http://mmsc:10021/mmsc|3|mms||13 15|o2|23410|234|10|mobile.o2.co.uk|web||web||||||-1|default|1|0 16|o2 mms|23410|234|10|wap.o2.co.uk|o2wap|http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002|password|http://wap.o2.co.uk|9201|193.113.200.195|8080|http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002|-1|mms|1|0 ...but your apns-conf.xml (used to generate the telephony.db) has a whole shedload of other carriers listed (from MCR r3?). I strongly suggest that you don't reset your APNs to defaults, or you may lose this functioning setup.
Guest zuccster Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 (edited) OK success. I replaced my /system/etc/apns-conf.xml with the attached version, hacked from the values in yug0's telephony.db To do this you'll need to execute the following adb commands adb remount adb push apns-conf.xml /system/etc/apns-conf.xml Then go into Settings .. Access Point Names -> [Menu] -> Reset to default. I can now send and receive MMS on O2 simplicity. Shame I migrate to Tesco Mobile tomorrow :-/ Edit: I should add that this file contains *only* values for O2 UK. If you want to swap your Orange SIM back in, you're SOL.apns_conf.xml Edited October 5, 2010 by zuccster

I'm running win7 64 and I can't get adb to run in cmd box (drivers fully installed), is there another way to push the commands?
Guest finnboy Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) Further to my earlier comment, my SF *IS* sending and receiving MMS fine, it just wouldnt send an MMS back to itself for some reason.... So, internet working and MMS all working fine. I'm on an O2, 12 month, sim only deal. Edited October 5, 2010 by finnboy

Guest Davie1888 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks yug0 thats the same as zuccster posted, I now have MMS working but no internet same as I had in post #34, so back to square 1. @zuccster was wondering why when I put your attached file on the phone they were now applying, it's because you saved the file with a underslash instead of a hyphen m8

Guest anything-but Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Seems its us payg users that's getting the problems, monthly and 12 monthly seem ok.
Guest Davie1888 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Deleted APN's and entered manually, all work now, one very happy chappie :) ;) :(
