Bit confused to what to exchange with what on that link m8 as u know it differers from the san fran, just unsure what relates to what.

Same here..payandgo not working, and have a list with 4 on it, top o2 one i can't unselect, and theres no button on any of the others

* - the pay and go one thats blacked out is the correct settings, but when i enable connection, i get connection failed.

Thanks. Could you also let me have /system/etc/apns-conf.xml, please?

both myself (Desire) and the Mrs (San Fran) are on o2 pay monthly and have MMS working fine.

Let me know if you want any settings.

With the San Fran, Im pretty sure we just did the 'Reset to Default' with the APNs using MCR r3...

Still not working..got the data connection, but MMS, they just sit there with the red icon next to them saying "This message will be sent later" or something..

Strange as I got my other half to send me a mms only a few hours ago and it came though ok.

sent one to my orange mobile and that's fine too.

Have you entered the settings with the caps where appropriate?

I think it would be useful if we gather together the definitive APN settings for O2 (and GiffGaff) and ask Paul nicely if he'd spin them into the next rom release.

What do you think?

Yeah, did all that, and nothing, until i got the wife to send an mms to me, then the ones i had been trying to send all got sent..

never thought they would all kick off and send at once..so it whacked about 2 quid of credit from me..lol

Eventually...it finally works.. :)

Nice one mate.... glad I could give something back to the community.

Maybe sticky the contract and payg mms settings for all services?

Try adapting the ones posted on here with the ones in HERE m8, shouldn't think there would be much difference.

O2 Pay and Go & GPRS Settings

After three days of messing about:-

Download APN Backup & Restore from the market and install. Delete all the installed APN's. Navigate to settings/Wireless & Networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names. You will find it blank. Click on Menu & create a new APN with the following credentials :-

Name:O2

APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk

Proxy:

Port:

Username: payandgo

Password: password

Server:

MMSC:

MMS:

MMS:

MCC: 234

MNC: 10

Authentication type : none

APN Type: default

Don't forget to hit Menu & Save when you have entered the details.

Then, create another APN with the following credentials:-

Name:O2 MMS PREPAY

APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk

Proxy: http://payandgo.o2.co.uk

Port: 9201

Username: payandgo

Password: password

Server: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

MMS Proxy: 193.113.200.195

MMS Port: 8080

MCC: 234

MNC: 10

Authentication type : none

APN Type: mms

Once again Hit Menu & save. Re-boot your phone & hey presto - GPRS and MMS that works on an O2 Pay & Go sim.

Tested & working on Orange San Fransisco/ZTE Bladein the UK

Hope the above is of help.

If you don't fancy typing all the info in just unzip the attached file to your SD card and use APN Backup & Restore to restore the above

hey guys is it possible to buy the san fran and put these o2 settings in without rooting it or anything ? and would everything work ok im not keen or confident enough to do this rooting thing lol

Posted
without rooting it or anything

Yes but...

You will have to unlock the phone for the O2 card to work...(but thats very very easy to do, easier than typing the new settings in fact)

Has anyone actually got this working on o2 Simplicity 12 month contract (on the iphone / smart phone tariff) ?

Ive deleted the standard APNs using APN restore - can anyone please give me the settings which I can enter manually to enable MMS ?

Thanks !

I have just picked up a San Francisco mobile up today. At the moment it is unlocked and will send texts and also make phone calls. I have no internet and suspect I wont be able to recieve mms messages. Can somebody help me out and point me in the direction of adding internet to the phone and getting the texts working correctly. I am on o2 12 simplicity pay monthly contract and the phone has the stock orange rom at the moment.

Thanks
