Guest twrock Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 I should copy dload file with recovery mod(mount SD card) ! or using a card reader! I found this on a french forum: "Beware the update V100R001C123B819SP01 U8230 (Switzerland Sunrise) turned my U8230 Mobile RBM2 REDBULL blocked !!!!!!" it's the same problem sad.gif> what I can do! mellow.gif First, does that person have any ideas? Someone with the same problem hopefully can help (or confirm it is hopeless). Regarding thing like how you copy files, try both ways. No, it might not make a lot of sense, but who knows what you might do differently if you use a different method. Maybe your phone is truly bricked and there is nothing you can do about it yourself. You might have to take it in for repairs and pay for it because you voided the warranty. That would be very unfortunate. But before you give up, try EVERYTHING! Do it all over again from the beginning. Be extremely careful of things like which folders/files you are using. Did you re-download everything again? Are you certain you properly renamed or deleted folders/files that needed to be? Are you sure you understand the instructions in the Guides? Did you take any "shortcuts" that you shouldn't have? I'm only asking all of this to try to help you think through what you have done already and MAYBE come up with some other idea you haven't thought of yet. But, maybe all is lost and there is no way to solve it. I hope not for your sake, but I don't know. Since no one else here seems to have any further ideas, maybe some other forum on some other website will have someone who knows how to help. Good luck.

Guest TGWS Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 thank u brothers ^^ ALSO. If you already have a Dload folder on your SD card and you try put another one on there, it will merge the two and not work, Make sure you. 1) Delete Original Dload folder of SD card 2)Put The new downloaded one onto SD card. Then try again. I done this, and it didnt work, but forget, i didnt delete it off the SD card and it merged and then i correctly done it and success. Good luck with the problem.

Guest twrock Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) i think that the problem "update failed " is due to Low space in intern memorie. any body have a solution to erase all memories !! No, I don't, at least not yet. But I do have a few questions for you before I make any further suggestions: 1. Are you using Windows on your desktop? 2. Can you still boot into "fastboot" mode on your phone? (vol_down + red_button + power => blue screen with white words) 3. Do you have a custom Recovery Image installed on your phone, either AmonRA or ClockWork? (When you start your phone with menu+red_button, what do you see?) 4. Do you have ADB installed on your computer, and can you connect between your computer and phone over USB cable? In other words, if you start your phone in fastboot mode (see above) and run the dos command "adb devices" from within the folder with adb.exe, what do you get as a result? 5. Do you have Fastboot installed on your computer and can you connect between your computer and phone over USB cable? In other words, if you start your phone in fastboot mode (see above) and run the dos command "fastboot reset" from within the folder with fastboot.exe, what do you get as a result? My apologies if this seems like I am "talking down" to you. That is not my intent. But sometimes each of us makes assumptions that are not correct, and everything we try to communicate after that is wrong because we started with faulty assumptions. I'm just trying to make sure my assumptions are correct. Incidentally, here is a link to a very good post that might be a big help to you. http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...at-youre-doing/ Edited October 9, 2010 by twrock

I was assuming you did not have a working phone. But it looks fine to me! Which updata.app are you trying to install? Have you attempted to install one of the official updates from Huawei specifically for your device? Does that work? Or are you attempting to install updates that are not for your device?
Guest nizarovich Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) noooo :) i can't install updata.app rom, I can only install flb.zip files ;) and i have now FLB1.7.zip Edited October 9, 2010 by nizarovich

Guest twrock Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 my only problem is that I can not install updata.app ROM. And that my boot-image is "RED BULL mobile" and I want to change.. :) From what I see on the huaweidevice.com website, there are many official updates for the 8230. Have you attempted to install one of those official updates, specifically one that has a build number of .....B8xx....? http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/down...p;softwareName= From other threads on this site, it seems that at least some other people who have the 8230 were able to use the "time machine" to reset their phone, and then install some other update (updata.app). I don't know why your are not able to do that.
Guest d.chatten Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) I had the same problem with a U8220, here's what i did to solve it, all i did was delete all partitions on the SD card (fat32, ext & swap) then formatted the whole SD card (one partition) as fat32, placed the "dload" folder from the T-Mobile UK Dec 09 update on to the SD card, then i installed the update through the device settings on the phone, all was fine after this. Link to T-Mobile UK Dec 09 Hope this helps! Edited October 11, 2010 by d.chatten
