Guest Simon O Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Ok I've spent a few days with various audiofilters and I've found what seems to be the best combination so far. audio_boost.zip Download and flash through Clockwork recovery. Make a nandroid backup first so you can go back to the original files if you want to. The files are based on G7 r1v2 audio filters from XDA and I've added the headset & BT audio boost. On maximum volume with headphones I get no distortion at all. I can't set the volume any higher without introducing distortion so this will probably the best anybody can do. Through the speaker it's not too bad. Some very slight distortion at maximum volume but it certainly sounds a little louder than it used to. The volume level through headphones is definitely increased though.

Guest kuna_lesni Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 you, sir, are my hero. this fix is way better than the stock sound or Louder Volume Hack 3.6. great for music. it is louder, more bass added and the distortion is just tiny little one. tnx again

Solution is to just turn the volume down a couple of ticks.
Guest dadashi Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 (edited) how do I make a "nandroid backup" if I want to go back to the original settings? I use the SF for Navigation as well, I'd like some more volume but not if it distorts too much on the speaker... EDIT: OK, I googled nandroid backup, haven't done it yet... Flibblesan, can't you post a *.zip of the original sound filter files so we can flash them back to the SF without having to go through other procedures? Edited October 23, 2010 by dadashi

Guest dj9928 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 LOUD! This combined with PowerAMP seriously rocks the headphones, and no distortion! Thanks. WOW well I must be doing something wrong, I installed the file and then PowerAMP and don't notice much difference to be honest, with PowerAmp you can play with EQ's etc but they all distort. But it is one sexy player, Nicest one out there I think.
Guest idroid84 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 I just added that file and theres hardleys any difference that I can hear. Not sure if it fully works tbh.

Yep I agree, tried it out today at work still very very low, I would go as far as to say volume is about half that of an iPod/iPhone
Guest dj9928 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Yep I agree, tried it out today at work still very very low, I would go as far as to say volume is about half that of an iPod/iPhone I downloaded Lithium music player today, it has a volume boost feature and it does work, music is louder with no distortion, However I was shocked, I listened to 2 podcasts total about 2.5hrs the battery was dead. So maybe this may be the reason the volume is so low, to help battery life.

Might as well took away the headphones and music player.
Guest dav_dako Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 What sort of headphones are you lot using? A decent set of isolation earbuds make this really quite a decent player especially with poweramp's equaliser, bass and treble control.
Guest brandt14 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Hi, I just installed PowerAMP on my SF but it doesn't recognise my mp3 files, I already selected the music folders under settings and ran a scan, but it doesn't help. Does someone know a solution?

It never worked for me (I think?). I just assumed the ZTE Blade wasn't supported. THIS however works excellently! Thank you.
Guest socialworker Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Has anybody tested fibbles filter with the 2.2 alpha build? Don't want to wreck my phone again :-)
Guest cobhc Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Has anybody tested fibbles filter with the 2.2 alpha build? Don't want to wreck my phone again :-) Seems to be working fine here using 3 player. Not tried any other player.
Guest nick_sub Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Thanks for this fibble. Unfortunately it made no difference to mine though (MCR r4). It's still loud enough to be usable though, especially with noise isolating headphones.
Guest gidtf Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Can you just copy the files using root explorer or have u got to use clockwork to install the files from the SD card. Edited November 18, 2010 by gidtf
Guest samjam Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I need dynamic loudness. The quieter spots in some of my classical tracks are too quiet to hear in my car, but the loud spots are quite loud enough. Anyone have any tips for me?
Guest Cronnix Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) I am using iPhone skullcandy headset.. the volume is nothing but great, even too loud so I run it at 50% most of the times. Edited January 17, 2011 by Cronnix
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I tried the fix - It may have helped slightly but not enough for me to notice the difference anyway. I am running JJ release 7.
