Guest gazberwick Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I too am looking for answer's about the overall volume level on my phone...I seem to feel sice applying the rom the other day that the volume has gone down as a result, thing is im not certain which rom i have applied. How do i tell??? and has anybody got info on the best audio update (hack) since this thread is quite old and the rom versions available now are many.
Guest admanirv Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Hmmm, even using my ultimate ears (which are famously loud) it doesn't sound that loud... I wonder if it's better over A2DP? P It is Paul, i have some S9 motorola bluetooth headphones and if you turn the volume upto MAX on the phone and MAX on the headphones I will deafen you very quickly its that loud! - good though ;)
Guest whoop_whoop Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Try a headphone amp - Fiio E5 works great with my AKG K450s.
Guest no-ice Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Try a headphone amp - Fiio E5 works great with my AKG K450s. im considering this^^ Currently using a2dp sony earphones, which are just loud enough, but when the battery runs out and i use my pioneer SE-MJ21, the volume level is awful. unless im in a quiet room i cant really hear the music. Ive tried countless music players and volume boosts, but nothing really helped.

Ive tried countless music players and volume boosts, but nothing really helped. Me too. My AKG 518s are barely loud enough when I'm walking down a noisy street. I've tried all the .zip fixes and even PowerAmp - when I play around with the settings some mp3s I have just go very distorted....
Guest plasticniki Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Try a headphone amp - Fiio E5 works great with my AKG K450s. I have the AKG 518s, and they have the same impedance as the 450s. I'm just wondering, do you still have to have the volume up full whack when using the Fiio E5 or would it go louder than you'd want without any distortion? Also, I live in Reading too! Hi ;)
Guest fLaMePr0oF Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Ok I've spent a few days with various audiofilters and I've found what seems to be the best combination so far. audio_boost.zip Download and flash through Clockwork recovery. Make a nandroid backup first so you can go back to the original files if you want to. The files are based on G7 r1v2 audio filters from XDA and I've added the headset & BT audio boost. On maximum volume with headphones I get no distortion at all. I can't set the volume any higher without introducing distortion so this will probably the best anybody can do. Through the speaker it's not too bad. Some very slight distortion at maximum volume but it certainly sounds a little louder than it used to. The volume level through headphones is definitely increased though. Tried to install from zip (not sure which clockwork version, it's the one included in the image install of JJr7) but got error:- E:Missing file: system/framework/services.jar E:Verification failed Installation aborted Any ideas? Thanks

Guest The Soup Thief Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) Hi The solution below works fine for me and it's super simple. I fly a lot and watch films on my phone (with battery pack).was on a long haul and pissed off cos I couldn''t hear sound track so I got meddling. Works perfectly even in very noisey places (also saves battery as you can turn the volume down): Get your standard headphones and poke them directly into your ears, so the face if the speakers points forward and down, ie directly down your ear canal. The wire and the stem of the ear bud should stick horizontally out of your ears, perpendicular to the side of your head. A photo would probably help you understand what I mean - let me know if you can't figure it out and I'll post one. It los a bit odd and feels weird initially but you soon get used to it The buds block off yout ear canal so no other noise gets in posted this previously but no one picked up on it Good luck ;) Edited January 29, 2011 by The Soup Thief
Guest unklejoe Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 That audio boost is awesome! Just installed on Japanese Jellyfish RLS9 and it works really well! Oh, and that's with any headphones on the bog standard music player, Astro player and rock player. Thanks a lot Flibblesan, legend!
Guest Tsip4 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 I tried to install the script with the new clockwork and it says that the scripting language is deprecated. Can someone please convert the script?
Guest spatch Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 I tried the fix - It may have helped slightly but not enough for me to notice the difference anyway. I am running JJ release 7. I have just installed this and updated the audio boost on JJR7 with and it works a treat. Before with headphones on you can hear oncoming traffic. Just surprised that the volume was as low as it was before. Its excellent now. ;) You should try to install it again.
Guest Darkrose1987 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 **If you want to increase volume output on the S.F download Power Amp from the market, it has a pre amp which greatly increses the devices loudness, simply click on the circular volume button on the bottom right hand side of the of the ap, this will bring up the equaliser, the first controll on the left is the pre-amp, take this to the max. (Also check volume is set to the max)*** Happy listening. DarkRose1987 De-Oranged r8 Rom.

Can anyone tell me how to return my audio back to standard? I'm using JJ7 rom
Guest MikeRame Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 try Lithium Music Player from the market. reviewers have said that it is a lot louder than the standard player. i don't have an android phone at the moment to check though. just remember to uninstall it if it's not louder as you'll be charged €2 otherwise. I've tried it, no success (It worked on my pulse though). Also none of the methods said above worked. :D

Try it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?5a2oi7vadfherax All credits goes to original developer of course. This package seems to be 15 times larger than the original, which is odd. And it made my Cyanogen ROM hang on boot and I had to reflash the ROM to get the phone working again.
Guest Amplifier Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Are you kidding me? You really want to increase the volume? I'm having troubles with the stock headphones too, but it's not because the volume is so low, it's because it's too high! I have to keep my media volume at the lowest, and I would still like to low it a bit.. :D
Guest Maz2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Orange must have changed something since I bought mine then. With the standard earplugs it has always been too quiet for some tracks. Even the speaker isnt exactly deafening.

Don't get carried away with the "oomph" otherwise distorts but makes sound way better without draining battery - ROM JJR9 Edited March 21, 2011 by Reading1800
Guest eLJay Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 I bought a pair of ajay ones off mymemory (the same as the two and three just less adapters) when they were on offer they seem to do the trick, I'm just going to get the nokia ad 57 to get the mic back.
