I'm thinking of installing PointUI Home 2, but would like to ask what everyone's experience is with it first. So if you've used it, how was it? Could it stand up to daily use?

I use exchange/SMS semi-heavily, and the calendar/task/schedule functions heavily.

I see it has a schedule and task screen slideable on the home screen, which seems good.

Thanks in advance.

And the reason I don't just install it to try it out is cause I hate installing and uninstalling. I'm not sure if it does, but just in case it bogs down the device any more than it is. I was actually thinking of hard resetting cause I recently switched keyboards.

lol I'll be honest, flashing terrifies me. I've read through how to do it here, but I just know something would screw up and I'd be left with no phone.

Hi Echo30, installing Pointui is not flashing your phone, can do no damage as is easily uninstallable. There is no need to purchase it as the free works perfectly. The footprint is not large, can be installed on your storage card and does not bog the phone down. The app works extremely fast and fluently. The Pointsense by Blue ocean is what you need as it gives a near total Android experience. It takes a bit of perseverance to get it up and running but is well worth it. I can run it on my Diamond 2 WVGA with no problems... :lol:

NB. Click on the pic to see the animations..

ohoh pointUI.. thats like sooooo outdated.. i think they stopped developing it.. so i stopped using it.. but it is good. back when MS is not as well developed by users, pointui is said to be the free UI that is on par with MS.. even until now, i think it is still better. but it is now outclassed by UI such as iphone today, throttle launcher, 无限今日, even the laggy sense UI that has been cooked awesomely by the cooks in the roms forum. not to mention the titanium UI that has been made awesome by contable and Sv0911.

So yea. it is good but outdated.. so the old bugs are still there..

Thank you very much Looby, I appreciate it. Exactly what I was looking for. I think I'm going to try it out. And a wicked-awesome thank you for the direction to pointsense!

Interesting. Do you remember what exactly was buggy about it?

Although I have to say I've used Iphone today, throttle launcher, and even spb ms3.5 and haven't really been all that impressed with any of them. But for some reason pointui2 just seems very workable.

@darkworldzz

Totally agree with your comments. I use WM7 on Throttle launcher myself, have customised to taste, the most intuitive UI and I can see why people will like the official version when released.. :lol:

@Echo33

The only bug I found was that if you have more than 4 pages in operation it could freeze. Stick to that and everything should be ok.. :lol:

NB. There is a pdf installation guide on p124 post 3,700 in the Pointsense Suite 2.0.0.6 release section.

cant really remember.. but the basic pointui suite is buggy.. but everything that is buggy can be fixed manually and that is what is great about pointui..

That is very good to know, thanks again. I've been looking through the threads and install process etc and it looks a little daunting. But of course the prospect of it working is pretty cool.

Well that's good to know, thanks for the heads up I appreciate it!

Probably gonna put the basic pointui2 on later at home, see how it goes.

It acts like a today screen plugin does it not? Like it's not a takover shell like spb?

pointui is pretty cool and highly flexible, unfortunately they seem to stop deveploping it. it's the most smooth plugin i have used. and yes, it's a today plug-in, so make sure you enable it. here's a screen shot of mine.

the last time i tried it was on my omnia i910.

it was ok but i couldnt keep it because there is a bug with the touch screen sensitivity.

i would go to push a selection and the screen would slide like i hadnt already slid the screen into place

i agree that it is indeed very buggy, there are many applets that I can't get to work on my phone.
