Guest rice&fish
Can someone tell me how to disable the camera shutter sound. I tried renaming the camera_click.ogg file in system/media/audio/ui , but it doesn't disable the shutter sound. The silentsnap app from the market doesn't work either. It's really annoying. Guest doubletakeit
Use RootExplorer to edit /data/local/tmp/3rd_party/Arcsoft/Camera/camera.conf (long press on the file and chose Open in Text Editor) If you don't see that .conf file, just run camera and it will be created. Change shutter_sound=1 to shutter_sound=0. Then Save & Exit.
Guest he6rt6gr6m
Or, download SilentCam. :) I would probably go with the above method, though. Takes less memory, and is easier to do. Gonna do it myself, so I can take photos of my Gal during the night, but silently so she doesn't hear me... Wait, do I sound like a pervert? Guest kapslock
How about the auto focus sound. Any advice with that?
Guest doubletakeit
Delete or move all the *.wav files in /system/3rd_party/ArcSoft/Camera/ You don't have to edit camera.conf if you use this method. Nevermind, it doesn't work. Edited October 4, 2010 by doubletakeit
Guest doubletakeit
Putting your phone into Vibration or Silent mode will make the AF sound gone. :) (Open notification then press sound icon) Edited October 4, 2010 by doubletakeit
Guest playtime44
Use RootExplorer to edit /data/local/tmp/3rd_party/Arcsoft/Camera/camera.conf (long press on the file and chose Open in Text Editor) If you don't see that .conf file, just run camera and it will be created. Change shutter_sound=1 to shutter_sound=0. Then Save & Exit. Great fix, I'll just add a little detail. Before modifying camera.conf make sure you've set the Mount R/W option in Root Explorer otherwise it won't save the edit properly. The option is available at the top of the main screen of Root Explorer.
