Guest robot1000 Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 hm Paul something keeps turning the wifi on and off... can't stop it... just got a reboot too.. 10-04 11:30:49.209: DEBUG/ConnectivityService(1232): Dropping ConnectivityChange for WIFI: DISCONNECTED/DISCONNECTED 10-04 11:30:49.209: DEBUG/ConnectivityService(1232): Dropping ConnectivityChange for WIFI: DISCONNECTED/DISCONNECTED 10-04 11:30:49.229: WARN/dalvikvm(1232): threadid=47: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x2aaca228) 10-04 11:30:49.229: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1232): Uncaught handler: thread WifiService exiting due to uncaught exception 10-04 11:30:49.239: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1232): *** EXCEPTION IN SYSTEM PROCESS. System will crash. seems like the constant connect/disconnect wifi caused the reboot.. weird. Managed to stop it by switching Aeroplane made on then back off

Guest Simon O Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 :) how do you push a file there? ;) tried adb but theres no push command? newbie alert :( I did this: adb push wpa_supplicant /system/bin/wpa_supplicant adb shell chmod 755 /system/bin/wpa_supplicant adb reboot[/code]
Guest Paul Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Yeah... if you're not comfortable with such things, wait! :)
Guest Simon O Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Other feedback? Speed? Responsiveness? P Phone looks smoother. It's quite clear than the UI is being hardware accelerated now. Not seeing any artifacts at all which I'm quite amazed about. I seem to also have some nicer zooming animations enabled now. The keyboard zooms into view instead of just sliding up. Makes the phone so much nicer :) Not experiencing any slowdowns so far. I'll give the phone a good play today and report back if there are any bugs but, so far, it's pretty damn good!
Guest Paul Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Sweet. I'm uploading the version with fixed wpa_supplicant now, then i'll put it in the main MCR topic. With this tweak the Blade is pretty awesome IMHO! P
Guest n00kie bear Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Alrighty peeps... wanna have a quick go of this before I post it in the MCR thread? MCR r3: DOWNLOAD (ROMraid Load Balancing) - MD5: 24f8d08ffdca4a2f5bb3c01d4effe944 ChangelogHardware acceleration enabledCore app updates (Maps etc.)MoDaCo Boot LogoMinor WiFi changesA few other minor tweaks and changes to juice up performance and maximise compatability Paul - Are you hoping the minor wifi changes in r3 are likely to sort out the the wifi drop/reconnect issues or are the changes to resolve something else?

P The Blade is turning into a mini Nexus One :) Now if only there was a way to make the phone wake up if you press a button other than the power button.. it's annoying. Guest jsplace Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Seems great to me Paul, speed and responsiveness of UI seem improved, to early to tell much else but will let you know :) Did same as Fibblesan re: pushing wpa_suplicant
Guest Paul Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Yeah, i've been looking into that, no luck yet, but never say never... :) P

Guest neologan Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 can't wait to put this on, who doesn't love hardware acceleration :)
Guest anything-but Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Is the fixed version uploaded now paul? Good day to have as a day off here i see! :)
Guest Simon O Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Paul - Are you hoping the minor wifi changes in r3 are likely to sort out the the wifi drop/reconnect issues or are the changes to resolve something else? Well personally I've left my phone for 20minutes and just woken it up and wifi connected first time. Just rebooted and wifi has connected again, so I think the issue is either resolved or the changes have been sufficient to keep it to a minimum.
Guest Paul Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Fixed version is now up and is just replicating around the load balancing servers, about to update the main r3 topic. P
Guest Paul Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Paul - Are you hoping the minor wifi changes in r3 are likely to sort out the the wifi drop/reconnect issues or are the changes to resolve something else? They may do, but I plan further investigation / tweaks if not. :) P
Guest Simon O Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 What did you do to fix the artifacts when enabling hardware acceleration? :)

Guest Paul Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 What did you do to fix the artifacts when enabling hardware acceleration? :) Pixie dust! ;) P
Guest n00kie bear Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 They may do, but I plan further investigation / tweaks if not. :) P Thanks, as a recent convert from a fruity phone I'm blown away by the value of the £100 Blade and the level support you and others are providing.
Guest xzyk Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 installed both the r3 superboot and this new r3 rom.. all installed perfectly first time. Haven't noticed any ill-effect yet and all seems to be working fine. I wonder how i can tell that hardware acceleration is really doing its thing though ? thanks Paul for a quick turnaorund .. :)
