What exact message does ClockworkMod give you?

installing sdcard: r5_update_de-orangeated_blade_livewallpaper_addon_signed.zip

finding update package...

opening update package..

E:Can't open / sdcard/r5_update_de-orangeated_blade_livewallpaper_addon_signed.zip

(bad)

installation aborted.

cheers

OK

found the solution

I was using a Kingston 32 gb card (no probs with phone or when first updating to r5)

put wallpaper update on 2gb card and it worked first time so there is a bit of something wrong reading size of cards?

any how cheers for the help, and hope this may help someone.

hey this custom rom sounds good  im new to all this and i may buy the san fransico, i want to ask this seems to be the best for getting rid off bloatware, does that mean it should make the device have a better battery life? As in theres less apps running in the background so it should be doing less tasks? i dont care about speed as much as i do about battery life. will this rom last a day with wifi on for half the day, bluetooth gps and backgroung sync always off, browsing, watching youtube clips, and listening to music. i cool with charging at night i just dont want to worry about weather the battery will last the whole day! thank you guys!

In Theory yes, but no-one has actually done any firm metrics to prove it one way or another. This ROM is certainly the closest to a nice clean Stock experience that Google want you to have... Until someone builds their own ROM from source at least.

In light of the number of people who have asked, I'm working on r6, and that will come with a DIET and FAT version, the one version having the ZTE Apps, Live Wallpapers & the TouchPal keyboard.

I've got a few loose ends to tie up, got a very tricky bug with the Browser to get rid of, but hopefully not too long now...

any chance of a breakdown of what will be included apps wise in Fat and Diet ?

also there are a few small files still related to orange/zte apps left in the applications folder such as "com.orange.appshop" and "com.orange.setupwizard" and so on there are quite a few and should imagine would build up to a considerable amount of space wastage ,they just force close when clicked ,how would one get rid of these?

Hi Sebastian,

I installed your ROM, but the FM Radio is gone, could you point me to the apk to install it?

Does the application consumes anything out of the ordinary to be removed?

Thanks

the Lite version will be just the same as r5, only with any app updates, the FAT version will have the live wallpapers, the TouchPal Keyboard, and the ZTE apps everyone seems to miss so (Alarm Clock, Filer, FM Radio, Notepad, TaskManager)...

Hi Sebastian,

I already found the apk inside a ROM created by Paul.

Thanks,

Did you wipe the data/factory & cache partitions using clockworkmod, before installing the new ROM?

this has been covered endlessly, you need to either wipe your userdata partition, or delete the packages.xml from /data/system

That sounds a very sensible compromise! Thanks!

What are you working on with the Browser?

Seb, if you have time, it would be nice to have a2sd support in the fat version. It appears the only working rom is the one baked in Paul's kitchen with specific a2sd support.

i didnt so thats what it might be! so is it just a case of doing that via clockwork and then installing udate.zip again?

Seems I screwed up the last time I edited the browser application, and it caused problems when downloading some files, hopefully its all fixed now.
