Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Seb, if you have time, it would be nice to have a2sd support in the fat version. It appears the only working rom is the one baked in Paul's kitchen with specific a2sd support. I've not tried it recently, but the guide on villianrom's website worked fine for me when I tried it.
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 i didnt so thats what it might be! so is it just a case of doing that via clockwork and then installing udate.zip again? Just do the wipe, should be no need to re-install the ROM
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 @Sebastian404 Any aidea when we will see r6? It's been on my site for about 24 hours
Guest Movisman Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Hi Seb, I've just bought a San Francisco and am using your R5 ROM - really excellent work, just what I wanted (barebones + fast!!) but i'm having an issue with the notification LED which seems to be common among most ROM's, outlined here: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...tification-led/ Just wondering, are you aware of this, and if so do you know of any workarounds / possible fixes? It's really annoying not getting a notification LED for incoming SMS etc when the screen is off (it works when on AC power, however). Thanks!
Guest xionation Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 (edited) Quick question, for r6, which one do i download or whats the difference between fat? lite? < ignore that it was me being stupid  Edited November 9, 2010 by xionation
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Quick question, for r6, which one do i download or whats the difference between fat? lite? Which version for me This ROM now comes in a Lite and Fat version, the Fat version has retained the LiveWallpapers, CooTek TouchPal keyboard, and ZTE Apps (Alarm Clock, Filer, FM Radio, Notepad, TaskManager).

As far as I can tell, the problem is more about the phone going to sleep, its the same reason why you cant wake it by pressing the buttons on the front... Im about sick of messing with the Stock ROM, I've got a few other projects on the go, but I'm working on a AOSP build that should be able to address a lot of these problems, I believe other people are too
Guest xionation Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I realised what i said sebastian , thanks alot for your efforts.. putting your 2.1 back on as froyo sucks my battery to 0 within 5 hours hah!

Looking forward to your AOSP build, hopefully that will sort some of these irritating problems relating to standby! Apart from the notification LED/Standby issue though everything has been running smooth for me so far using your r5 ROM.

Guest onlinejobwork Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 About RELEASE This ROM is based on the Original Orange V1.0.0B05 ROM that was originally shipped with the device, all the Orange Branding has been removed, and any applications modified by Orange have been replaced with the AOSP versions. The aim is to revert the device to as close to AOSP as possible. Future development r6 marks the end of development for this ROM, Orange are known to be working on 1.0.0B06, once this appears expect r7. Hi Sebastian, 1st I would like to thank you for great work, I am using your r5 rom since you cooked it its almost perfect rom without any major or minor bug(s), I would like to know how to compare this rom with previous version? what extra or additional thing you add? can you please publish comparision sheet between this and previous rom? is that any speed, battery or UI based enhancement or improvement in your recent rom? if you dont mind can you track or track the cpu and battery usage between these two rom which is very interesting to know and I am curious about it, the main concert for me is the battery life, did you see any improvement in this rom? my net is down ATM it will hopefully up and running tomorrow and when I install it I will test it througly and give you suggestion for any improvment or missing essential stuff, Thanks Urvish

Guest andw77 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Hi Sebastian, First of all, thanks for great job preparing your custom ROMs, I've been using R5 for a while and it works flawlessly :-) Now to my question - can ROMs in zip format be modified by simply adding / removing .apk packages inside? I.e. I would like to add only TouchPal and FM Radio to your lite ROM, will it work if I take them from the fat ROM? Can other apps be added the same way? Thank for help, AndreW
Guest vigadish Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Have been using R5 since it came out and have loved it. Many Thanks Seb! Only slight issue I've had is the performance on Angry Birds lol. Often lags a bit. Can't wait to get home this evening and update to R6. Quick question, is there a way to save all the apps I've downloaded prior to updating to R6? Or is it advised to wipe everything (phone and sd memory) and do a clean install via Clockwork?
Guest vasiloy Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Good job with R6 fat. Just what I needed. Thanks Seb.
