Guest tom619 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 difference between fat and lite? any better than modaco r4?
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 not aware of your site....link please http://www.podtwo.com/android/ I might make something more 'exciting' of it oneday..
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 just tried r6 lite. didn't found any noticable different in performance to the previous r5. anyhow, thanks sebastian. There is nothing really that different from r5, just the Fat and Lite versions now..
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Hi Sebastian, Will this fix include the yellow progress bar at the top in the browser? Hmmm, can you give me a little more info? and is it the same on the Stock Browser?
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Now to my question - can ROMs in zip format be modified by simply adding / removing .apk packages inside? I.e. I would like to add only TouchPal and FM Radio to your lite ROM, will it work if I take them from the fat ROM? Can other apps be added the same way? Sort of.. SORT OF.. you need to resign the zip afterwards, but for the most part yes
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Have been using R5 since it came out and have loved it. Many Thanks Seb! Only slight issue I've had is the performance on Angry Birds lol. Often lags a bit. Can't wait to get home this evening and update to R6. Quick question, is there a way to save all the apps I've downloaded prior to updating to R6? Or is it advised to wipe everything (phone and sd memory) and do a clean install via Clockwork? if you just upgrading from r5 to r6 there should be no need to wipe anything, you really wont notice any difference, its more to allow a FAT and DIET version of the rom.
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 difference between fat and lite? any better than modaco r4? Which version for me This ROM now comes in a Lite and Fat version, the Fat version has retained the LiveWallpapers, CooTek TouchPal keyboard, and ZTE Apps (Alarm Clock, Filer, FM Radio, Notepad, TaskManager).
Guest revs Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Hmmm, can you give me a little more info? and is it the same on the Stock Browser? It comes with the orange phone, it's not there in r5, it's basically a thin yellow/orangish line across the address bar showing the progress of the page loading.

Guest oh!dougal Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Its back with a vengeance in v7... and v8  Since v7 was stated to be based on Orange's not-even-announced r2 (1.0.0B06), that hint kinda suggests that it might already be in limited circulation ... But v8 ... I didn't think the roadmap went that far! Edited November 10, 2010 by oh!dougal

Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) Just as an aside... if anyone REALLY wants to try it, and because a beautiful French girl asked me, here is a version of r6 based on the Bouygues Telecome ROM: http://www.podtwo.com/android/ I've merged the two phones APNs together so it should 'just work' if your French or not... Any feedback would be great... Edited November 11, 2010 by Sebastian404
Guest joe t Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 ive moved onto version r6 fat from r5, r4 and r3. i dont use my bluetooth in the car that often, but certainly on r3 it worked fine, yesterday while on r4 it was paired as normal but it does not load up the contacts and even if i dial with the phone or the onboard car dialler it does not make calls. im not really blaming the phone or the mod just asking if there is an issue, it may well be the car which is new so it should be upto date. ive noticed on the 1st page of this thread it mentions car dock, where and what is this?. id be really grateful for some advise. thanks...... joe.............
Guest JCPren Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I bought my San Francisco last week, and have installed this r5 ROM. I noticed that Call Forwarding options are missing from my Call Settings menu. Is that a characteristic of this ROM, or could there be some other problem? I'm with O2... John

I also downloaded BusyBox. But busybox doesnt install...any help? The problem seems to be that I have included a AOSP version of SU... where a lot of things seem to want a different version. Grab the update zip from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828 and apply that to the ROM, it should sort you out.
