Guest stanno Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 eBay screen protector seller seems to have dropped the price to £2.95 which is a bit more reasonable. I thought they were a bit expensive at £4.95 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-x-screen-protector...o-/270679639682 I got these today and they are very good. The fit is absolutely perfect and they seem to smear less with fingerprints than the actual screen.
Guest Ron=) Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Guys be careful when buying screen protectors. Many sellers are simply rebadging omnia protectors as ZTE blade ones. Yes, they do fit - but you could buy the omina ones for less. Better yet, you could buy an actual zte blade protector. For the actual ZTE protector above see this link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6x-screen-protector-...=item27b7464c10 Note that it ships from germany and so could take a while to get here! Ron=)

Guest Ron=) Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Careful..not sure that these are 3-ply and so hard to fit without leaving air bubbles!! I'm not sure what 3-ply means but there were very easy to fit, just peal back the layers and place it on one end to the other. I've got no bubbles! =) EDIT: I also say the same ebay seller selling these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Savvies-Crystal-Clea...=item2a0c91bbf0 Thats the same price, but only for one. I presume that means they are better quality? Havn't tried them though so don't warrent me on that one! I had a set of omnia ones too but the actual blade ones are superior in coverage. They have a proper fit and curve at the bottom. They cover all the way down to the bottons meaning the whole black bit is covered! Edited January 7, 2011 by Ron=)

If they don't have a curved bottom I shall ask for a refund.
Guest Pieniek Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I found something like this on my local auctioning service (Allegro, I'm from Poland): It's called Gllaser MAX SuperClear. There is also Anti-Glare model. It covers all the way from the top to bottom buttons :D I will buy it for sure, it's about 4USD for 2, and its very good quality, no glue.

Fitting them wasn't easy though, because it wasn't 3-ply.

Guest RussellS Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 hello all i just got my screen protector from this seller: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=280398195254 Uploaded with ImageShack.us and i have to say it doesn't look like anything posted on here and its far too big for the handset, so is it me or have i been sent the wrong sp? cheers That doesn't look like an i900 screen protector and it doesn't even look like the one in the eBay listing. I think the wrong ones were in the packet. Here are the i900 ones I got off eBay They measure 49mm wide and 90mm high and are a pretty much perfect fir for the San Francisco. Russell

Guest aermua Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 anyone found a dedicated gel/silicone case for the handset yet? still waiting for this, but looks like making the holes is going to be a pain for me
Guest shpal Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I've ordered that one. At first it wasn't a fit so I emailed them and the second time around it was a perfect fit. Fitting them wasn't easy though, because it wasn't 3-ply. Well, mine arrived this morning and it looks like this seller is a bit hit and miss. Mine are a perfect fit with a curved bottom and are 3 ply. Amazingly (for me) I managed to get it fitted perfectly first time. I use swype for my keyboard and also use gesture search a lot and both work fine with this protector. Very pleased.
Guest RussellS Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) anyone found a dedicated gel/silicone case for the handset yet? still waiting for this, but looks like making the holes is going to be a pain for me To be honest if you get a Nokia E71 silicone case you don't actually "need" to make any additional modifications if you don't want to. There is already a hole in the right place for the micro USB connector & the headphone jack and there is a hole in the back for the camera. On mine I cut a hole where the power button is but only because I don't like pressing the button through the silicone case as I'm always afraid I'm pressing too hard and will end up breaking it. However this is only me probably being overly cautious. I also made a hole where the speaker is on the side of the phone, however this didn't appear to make any difference to the level or quality of the sound coming out so I wouldn't bother. If you do decide that you want to modify the case though, it really isn't very difficult. A sharp knife and a good small pair of scissors and you'll be fine. Just put the phone in the case first and then use a fine tipped marker pen to mark on the silicone case where you want to cut and then remove the phone from the case and cut out where you have marked. The problem is that if you don't put the phone in a case from new then the rubbery coating on the phone will start to wear and flake as others have reported on here and will quickly start to look a bit tatty. Hopefully some proper ones will become available soon but in the meantime I really would suggest the E71 as a stop gap measure. Edited January 8, 2011 by RussellS
Guest psychopianist Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Bought this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002DBI...=cm_rdp_product Fits the SF perfectly, leaves a perfect gap for the USB connection, the headphone jack also has a gap. The microphone also has its own hole which is surprisingly perfect. The volume controls are under the rubber casing, but have special buttons which just about seem OK. I shall take a picture later.

That would definatly cover the light and proximity sensors You won't be able to see the screen while in a call

Stupidly I left feedback before I attempted to fit them so it looks like I'm stuck with some useless screen protectors now.
Guest aermua Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 hi you can send them back, but the cost of sending them back is not viable, but i think they are clearly the wrong ones, was it from the same seller? If he refuses go to eBay Resolution Center and start a resolution process choosing I bought an item and I received an item that does not match the seller's description. I bet that you won't have to go that far. He's going to mail you the right item free of charge, once you make it clear that you're determined. Edited January 8, 2011 by aristarhos
