It seems it all boils down to two choices...

2. Buy from UK. After a day or two it will arrive, recorded delivery. No arguing about whether it was posted or received. Not seen any reports of damaged cases or missing protectors.

So, you pays your money and takes your chance.

+1

Much rather do business with a UK seller, although appreciate it is a bit more difficult a choice for our European cousins.....

Ordered last Thurs, dispatched on Friday and arrived Saturday - Can't say fairer than that.....

There are plenty on ebay, a couple of quid including postage for 2.

Would like to update you and others that the owner of sohogopher was infected with H5N1 flu virus and stayed in hospital for several weeks. The shipping was done by another team but nobody took care of the emails.

May I please apologize to you all on their behalf.

Yes, Hong Kong Post really has a big f__ked up period and this is why there will be a switch to RoyalMail.

The whole timeframe would be like:

0 day order received

1st-2nd day of preparation packaging and to the logistics service

3rd-4th day direct flight to London

5th day arrived at RoyalMail processing centre

6th-7th day delivered to most metro area within UK

8th-12th day processed and delivered to UK rural areas and other European countries

Also the Nillkin cases have been revised with larger USB ports from late Feb.

These are the news from sohogpoher... they claim their customers are starting to receive goods ordered on 24th Jan (!).

Here are what they have up on the new listings:

!!!! SOHOGOPHER sucked!!!! We are deeply sorry to customers who purchased our cases in late Jan and Feb 2011, where we relied on Hong Kong Post and it really makes the whole experience a nightmare (to both you and us). We fully understand your expectation to receive goods in 1 or 2 weeks at most (and HKP promised that also), it turns out that very few customers managed to get their goods in less than a week, most people in 3-4 weeks, and in extreme cases people who purchased on 15 Jan 2011 didn't get theirs until these 2 days (i.e. more than 45 days).

So we've decided to make a switch from 2 March 2011. Customers in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Sweden will be upgraded for a direct delivery made via RoyalMail 1st Class. Our logistics service promised a quicker transit time (7 working days to UK, 10 working days to other countries) and we won't increase the postage for UK customers (70p extra for other countries).

Had enough with sohogopher...5 weeks and no show but what really gets me is he's not replying to emails...left feedback and opened resolution case :(

Assuming it was posted on that day then it's fairly displeasing still not having recieved it by now, phone isn't going to last another month without a case and screen protector.

Either the postal service isn't reliable and I might not even get it, or I would have to request another for better service for posting.

Call me cynical but if sohogopher was ill, would another team that took over, who implemented several promotions, really have neglected customer service? also i feel this post is somewhat misleading, to say they are using royal mail after the case arrives in the UK, who was delivering it previously after it had reached the uk? parcelforce? the time frame is also skewered since it doesn't take into account saturdays and sundays so in effect it is basically the same deal as previously....

I respect your thoughts but may I please take a chance to explain further if possible:

1. the promotions were made before Chinese New Year (3rd Feb 2011), listings after that were automatically relisted

2. the Chinese New Year holiday lasted from 3rd to 10th Feb and everyone (including SOHOGOPHER) was assuming mail packets were in transit

3. the person in charge of SOHOGOPHER was admitted into hospital on 15th (or around that time) Feb and discharged on 22nd Feb.

For the email response time I can't tell you much as I am not part of the business.

Priror to the new dispatch arrangement, the flowchart with Hong Kong Post was like:

SOHOGOPHER -> Hong Kong Post* -> International Flights -> Customs -> Local postal service* -> Delivery

Issue No. 1 was with Hong Kong Post where they have been badly overloaded. Goods will sit in the airport and do nothing for 5-10 days.

Issue No. 2 is with local postal service (RoyalMail, etc.), mails from Hong Kong/ Singapore/ China, etc. are deprioritized and will give way to local mails and postal service of EU countries. They might have "forgotten" to process the Asian mails until UK/EU goods are cleared up.

Now the work flow will be more like:

SOHOGOPHER -> Logistics -> Flights to London -> Customs -> Accepted domestically by RoyalMail* -> Delivery

Mail packets are accepted and paid by the UK agency so they will be treated as UK RoyalMail 1st Class domestically. Normally next day delivery within the UK and an extra few days to other EU countries.

You are right about the time frame, and the days counted are in "working days" excluding weekend and holidays, but I hope you can see the difference.

And people should be able to tell if it's really a RoyalMail service or via Hong Kong Post by the look of the packet itself.

I had the same experience last year with an delivery, because of Chinese newyear. I got already a compensation from the seller after complaining by email, but after 3 months came these items and I had two of them.

After this I decided to wait a while before I order in that period. I know now that I can order this case, because I think HK post is back to normal.

Because Sohogopher not resposes on emails I had my doubts to mention this on Modaco, but I think al is OK now after this logical explanation by john.smith.

As a person who has bought from hong kong sellers before and have had negative experiences, i must say that it is evident you have vested interests in sohogopher's business and seem to know more than a normal buyer should. You have also bought up a number of discrepancies, such as his time of stay in hospital being several weeks to being around one week, several means more than 3+ right? so this is again seems to be excuses for dropping the ball. I also do not dispute that royal mail would be delivering the cases after it reaches the uk, i am curious as to what other provider did deliver previously, which surely was royal mail...

also i don't think your explanation is logical and the listing itself plus your explanation don't add up, 4-5 working days on ebay, you quote 12 working days on your own explanation...

on that note, i am waiting for nillkin to bring out different colours, i want a green case which is why i keep checking this topic, and from what i can see, timeblast now offers second class recorded delivery, though so far on his blue cases but logic would suggest that it will be a trend now. so again why should a uk buyer buy from hong kong?

john.smith's explanation of different shipping arrangement is confusing.

All mails are delivered by royal mail. How come it is now specified?

Whe he said customers will know the difference, does that mean the package is actually sent from UK, not Hong Kong? That is the only difference on can tell.

In that, does it mean that the packages will be sent to someone in UK and then re-send them? I think that is rather rediculous.

I do not agree that royal mail would de-prioritise asia mails.

The problem, as far as I know was becuase of Hong Kong mail delay the outgoing mails. Once they have reached UK, I do not think it will take more than 4-5 days for them to be delivered, taking into account of clearing/sorting.

So if the packages are sent to someone in UK and then "re-send by by local mail", it does not make sense. Because it will still go through the Hong Kong mail service, which was the primary problem.

I ordered a jelly case from lilamfashions (Timeblast) and all I can say is wow! Questions were answered immediately via eBay and the product arrived very quickly after ordering and paying on eBay.

The case quality is good, cutouts are perfect and the only thing which you *may* need to do is trim a tiny bit off your usb charging socket so the recepticle can fully insert into the usb charging socket on the phone. This is a minor point for me and nothing that 30 seconds with a sharp craft knife didnt fix. You dont need to do this, its just that there is less chance that the recharging cable will pop out when inserted.

Also I have to say the quality of the Nillkin screen protector is also excellent. I applied it after cleaning the screen with the supplied cleaning cloth (another bonus) and it looks great. As mentioned by a previous poster, the protector is almost smudge free - and i havn't noticed any problems with touch scrolling either.

I actually recently bought two phones and wanted to just order one case initially to see how good it was. Needless to say, I placed another order for a Timeblast case yesterday... :(

thanks again!

I bought one of these too, can definatly recommend, fast delivery and good communication when I had quieries about attaching the screen protector (which I managed to trash anyway due to missing some dust on the screen dammit! As you found, some of the holes could do with being a little larger but rather than cut mine I just pull the case off at the charging corner when I need to use it, same as I did for my temporary N71 case

You may read through the whole thread, and I have explained my relationship with SOHOGOPHER.

I believe I have never mentioned 4-5 working days. Please point me out on that. Please read through my post again.

7 working days for delivery in UK, 12 working days refer to other European countries. I think I've made it pretty clear.

It is entirely your preference that you choose not to purchase from HK sellers, and I respect your decision.

ronc2000, I think my English is too bad so I couldn't make it clear.

But in short, what you are saying is not fully accurate and what SOHOGOPHER is now arranging with logistics services, but Hong Kong Post.

I wish you could understand that something you have not experienced (directly dispatch via RoyalMail) does not mean it does not exist.

And yes, the packages will be fully processed by RoyalMail, stamped by RoyalMail. Again, it's something very new (which I have just learned from SOHOGOPHER), bypassing the delay in Hong Kong Post. So it's something you (and I) have never heard of, but it does exist.

I understand you are skeptical on this, and it's very new to me also. Let's all wait for a week when SOHOGOPHER has dispatched the packages since 2nd March (as claimed on eBay), then customers can tell the difference.

Thank you for your comments and I won't say anything further unless we have solid experiences with the new logistics service.

Just in case i missed something, i just went through your posts and i don't see an explanation for your relationship, only that you are constantly advertising for him. also the 4-5 working days bit, any uk buyer can go to sohogopher's ebay listing and see it very clearly it states 4-5 working days for delivery. If you insist i will post my screenshot which i just took...

Therefore, this comes to my point about your vested interests, you obviously know this seller personally and to be able to get this information to post to us.

I also think you are missing Ronc2000's post, all mail that is sent to england is delivered by royal mail unless it was by another courier such as parcelforce, fedex, ups etc. To now specify royal mail is misleading. I understand that i don't have to buy from HK if i don't choose to but your posts mislead and sohogopher's ebay listings are even more misleading (black cases when it is grey and transparent!, free screen protectors that never came etc).

Got my case from HK - SHOHOGOPHER as it happens. Took about 10 days and I am very happy with it. It makes my SF look superb. Sorry if people have had problems with getting cases but other than postal issues (time really and more links in the chain) why should an Ebayer in HK be any less trustworthy than an Ebayer in the UK? There are many scammers here in the UK and I can verify that SHOHOGOPHER is not scammer.

I do not think anyone says SHOHOGOPHER is a scammer.

I do defend sellers delayed deliveries are usually due to postal services. Once the item has been seen out, that is the seller's job done.

Customer service should be better by answering qureies in good time.

Being sick is not really an excuse. Arrangements should be made when that happens.

i bought on ebay from lilamfashions (Timeblast)

ordered it and got it a few days (3) later

UK - > Belgium

it included a screen protector (already bought 6) and a screen cleaner (haven't tested it yet)

the case fits perfectly

USB easy to plug in

The only thing i'm afraid of is the power on plug.

the case itself is pretty tough (hard cover) and is nice around the zte body (pretty tight)

I don't know how tight it will stay when you take out the phone regularly

it costed some money, but it's worth it, wouldn't like to break my zte!

It's a shame the case doesn't cover the area below the buttons. Actually I wouldn't really mind if it covered the buttons as well, as you can always use software buttons instead.

Any chance your stock will be replenished in the next few days, Timeblast? Your listing currently only shows the decals (and I didn't want the blue case that was still available yesterday). Cheers

i think it would be too tight when the area below the buttons would be covered

but indeed, this is the only place (except the screen then) that isn't covered

You're buying from ebay, not from John Lewis. Most sellers on ebay are one-person outfits.

slow reply on my part - ordered from timeblast approx. 2wks ago - rec'd in 3 working days.

Very pleased with grey case - fits fine, all slots work. Feels much more solid now.

Also noticed power button only seems to need slight pressure to register - doesn't feel like you need to depress switch fully so may last longer - might just be me imagining it.

Came with screen protector & cloth & felt pad.

Screen protector - do I really need one - tried to apply it & came out CARP so took it off. Any tips in case I try again ?
