Guest OtherguyX Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 damit 10 quid, dont want to spend THAT much on a case. Then again, i might, i dunno i would rather spend around 3 quid or so. Not alot. My dads phone had a 3 quid one and its never broken, dropped s*** loads of times, then again it was an n95 which is like indestructable. send us some pics of that new play case :) but anyone got any reccomended cheap cases?
Guest targetbsp Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Has anyone used both the Omnia screen protectors recommended earlier in the thread and the san fran ones that are popular later? I just switched from an Omnia one and the San Fran one has a heck of a lot more... friction I suppose is the word. It makes swyping and well anything that involves dragging your finger over the screen less pleasing than the Omnia ones. Will it get better over time? Or does everyone whose got the San Fran ones just not know what they're missing? :) [edit] Well my iphone owning friend tells me all screen protectors are like that and it'll smooth out and it's just cause i've gone from a worn it one to a new one. :) [edit 2] i reckon the touchscreen was slightly more sensitive on the Omnia ones too. Guest ShahinTehShiz Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Any of the cases cheaper like they were before? Or all still in the £5 and up range?
Guest C3P001 Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 I would suggest the case from Play uk and the screen protector from Zagg a bit expensive yes but both quality items
Guest mug2k Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Are there any decent pics of the Play/Exspect case around ?.
Guest Azurana Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 I bought one of sofiz.co.uk more than 2 weeks ago. The money was taken from my paypal acount, but I never got a tracking code or anything. So I now really don't know if it's underway or not. even though on the site it says tracking code given in 2 days. Anyone else had this aswell? It had to ship to Holland, so i expect 2 - 3 weeks.. But with no tracking code it makes me a bit nervous.

Guest DannyDanny Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 http://www.speedpost.com.sg/TrackAndTrace.asp Is this where you track your SOFIZ case? Ive got my tracking number but they never work.
Guest Azurana Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Today I found a notice a package would be deliverd, but I wasn't at home. But very big chance it was the sofiz case. Tomorrow I know for sure, but since i didn't order any other packages, it must be my case. So it got around safely.
Guest wakaru Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Hi, this is my personal comparative between the grey Nilkin and Sofiz cases. I was lucky and sogohoper sent me a free sample of the Sofiz resin case so that I would make a review in return. Both cases have been tailor-made for the ZTE Blade and fit it perfectly including each of the openings for the earphones, speaker, camera, etc. They are both made from similar materials and similar thickness. In that respect I could not say that one will be protecting the phone much better than the other. ALso, for the same reason, both feel very similar to the grip. Note regarding the NILKIN Case: There have been some people saying the hole for the earphones was not big enough, and the one for the mic were not exactly in the right possition, however this was most likely true in the first batches. I got my Nilkin case from sogohoper about 2 months ago and every hole is where it should be. Note regarding the SOFIZ Case: The reviewed case is a sample. The comercial version will have a small logo less than 1.5cms in width on the near bottom of the case which will be matching the colour of the case (black on smoke grey, white on other colours) so it should not be very intrusive. Note the Nilkin case has two additional holes at the bottom. This is because this case comes in with a mobile screen cleaner that attaches to is like a lanyard. The main differences between the cases are:The resin material used for the Sofiz case is grey-transparent while the one for the Nilkin case is smoked-greyThe back side of the Sofiz case has a diamond pattern, while the Nilkin one is plain. The opening for the Sofiz case is bigger, hence improving the picture-taking process since there are no shadows like those that can occur in the Nilkin case. On the negative side the protection to the lens cover is worse than the Nilkin one, so is you tend to keep your phone in your pocket along with coing, keys etc, you could easily scratch it.The bottom-front of the Sofiz case covers the phone higher up when compared to the Nilkin one while still allowing good access to the phone keys. The opening for the Micro-USB connection is slightly bigger in the Sofiz case. Generally speaking the Micro-USB cable attaches more securely to the phone when using the Nilkin case. I have problems when using 1 of my 4 different types of Micro-USB cables with the Nilkin case, however this one will attach much better when using the Sofiz case. For those interested, the problematic micro-USB cable is the one that came with my Kindle. While facing up, one can only tell the difference when looking at the bottom bit of the case. The lack of pattern on the mate back side of the Nilkin case and the diamond pattern back side of the Sofiz case. Different openings for the camera lens. Personally I cannot see much difference between them, other than aesthetics. Both protect the phone in a similar way. One could argue that the Sofiz case protects the lower bottom of the phone a bit better, however it leaves the camera lens much more exposed to scratches, so in the protection department I do not think it should be getting a better score than the Nilkin one. I would recommend that you pick your case based on which one you like most. The good thing about the Sofiz case is that you can get more choice of colors, while the Nilkin one has only 3 available. On the other hand I believe that the color of the case will be mainly evident on those using it with white Blade ZTE phones. Anybody interested in getting the Sofiz cases, they are available from the site www.sofiz.co.uk . Prices are good, and you get even a better discounted price when purchasing several cases at once. All goods are now shipped by Singapore Post so it can be traced through SingPost website too. Edited April 27, 2011 by wakaru
Guest grudas Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) nice review.. i still have to add to the sofiz case - the headphone jack hole is not actually "centered" so the jack doesn't fit properly without pushing the case a bit to fit it in.. if you're like me and connect/disconnect the jack a lot (music/calls) then you will get a bit annoyed by it as it isn't simple to plug it in.. just saying... im not biased at all :o Edited April 27, 2011 by grudas
Guest Azurana Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) I got my sofiz case today. Looks good except one thing. The bottom of the case looks really ugly. it does not fit to the phone. It's almost as if it was heated to long and is now misformed. pics included: For now it will do, but I'm a bit dissapointed the bottom looks like that. Maybe I'll also get myself a Nilkin, or another case to see how that fits. Edited April 27, 2011 by Azurana
Guest john.smith Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) This issue is caused by shipping (heavy weight on it), it shouldn't be like this. Guest ShahinTehShiz Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Anyone know how good the EBay Pre - pay mania £1.75 cases are? LINK One of the other revies I saw elsewhere said this was bad and it took colour off the phone, which I haven't heard before. Edited April 27, 2011 by ShahinTehShiz
Guest Mike_P Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 My Sofiz case has arrived too with what looks like damage from a heavy weight sitting on it particularly the volume button side. Unfortunately it's splayed outwards so the case doesn't fit properly that side, might have a go trying to squash it back the other way and/or try a bit of heat. n.b. I didn't get any tracking number either.

Guest frenchy77 Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 nice review wakaru  i have the nilkin case and have had to cut the opening for the usb connecter. i have 3 different make of usb and they all used to fall out. i recommend using [the GFs] nail scissors as they are very sharp and curved at the tip - the proverbial knife thru butter :o i also ordered and am awaiting a smoked grey sofiz case. i bought them at the same time as i could not decide on which one to get. i will post which one i prefer when i get it [although it is obviously personal choice.] peace

Guest Timeblast Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Hi, New Sofiz cases listings are now up. Also I put the Black Sofiz case onto the White San Francisco. I think it looks alright. What do you guys think?
Guest ShahinTehShiz Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Which one is thicker? The Sofiz smoked grey or the glossy black? I'm just one question away from ordering but want something not too thick on the bottom front section.
