GPS fix for i8000 new

This replaces the default aGPS server to the

one GOOGLE aGPS server. This has been

found to dramaticaly increase GPS lock

speed! After applying this cab i get cold

Locks in about 20 seconds and warm gps

lock in under 15!

My stock JJ1 rom do not have aGPS settings. After that tweak my GPS lock works like a charm.

you can try to use on any rom, after uninstall everything goes back.

tweaks, tested for 1 year on JJ1/JF1 roms - working fine. (need data plan!!!)

maded some v/h acuratcy + reg. tweaks + new google server.(new IP, (74.125.113.192)

install aGPS_final.cab or aGPS_tweakwithdll.cab (for older roms beffore <<JF1) >>>> SOFT RESSET.

(do not forget to use JF1 or JJ1 phone part - look in ROM section for answers how)

took me a second to get the first lock so now im gonna soft reset and see what happens

instant lock in bing!

instant lock in garmin!

soft reset

google maps mobile locked as soon as i hit my location

im happy now

This seems specific to HTC devices? Does it work on our i8000 as we have a different reg location for the XTRA GPS settings?

this is aGPS settings. Not the xtra.

Just try, after uninstall all settings are back.

Seems that this cab create an "HTC" folder on the registry. On my Louvre, the keys for the agps is under HLKM/Software/Samsung/RIL/GPS, where i can see that the server is not changed. Also in Settings/General/GPS/AGPS the server is the old one.

No speed up on lock, whit this cab, at me. I'll try to change manually the server.

Just for sure I copied all reg fields fromHTC reg folder and paste in samsung reg folder.

now: cold fix max 30s. hot fix less 5s.

tested with igo primo and igo8.3.

no, but you can easy copy with resco explorer (+reg.plugin) to rigth place.

I double these results. Very fast fix with JF1 phone and JH2 stock PDA.

I even removed the GPSMod 3.20.

It sets the following in the [HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL aGPS\] Registry

DynamicURL to supl.google.com (searched on the internet and many people claim much faster locks than the default h-slp.mnc410.mcc310.pub.3gppnetwork.org)

EnableAGPS 1 (so aGPS is enabled in settings)

EnableLocInfo 0 Unchecks "Enable AGPS loation information to network services. Operator can get your location information." From the Privacy tab of the AGPS Settings

ServerIP to 74.125.113.192

ServerURL and TLSHostName to supl.google.com

Decided to just make a Generic one that sets the nokia aGPS server, enables aGPS, disables Location info and no network configuration.

i dont have anywhere to put these keys in my samsung folder???

at OP do you get quicker locks with the google server or the nokia server?

also i think just the cab file is working for me because after a soft reset, my first time opening gpsspot on THIS flash and it found me within 3 secs
