Guest vlada_dorov Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 please read about a-gps. : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_GPS thanks a lot for the info. :P
Guest akwin Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 hello friend just want to share... to get excellent gps locking, try this.. 1. install aGPS_tweak_rbs.cab 2. install samsung_sdkcert.cab and GPSmoddriver v3.20. cab (you can search using google) 3. go to nogarder GPS *#1472365# (setting/GPS/operation mode set to MS-Based), (setting/GPRS(AGPS)/server address and TCP set to 74.125.113.192:7276) 4. Set com 2 (GPSmoddriver) to all GPS software. 5. for garmin or all gps software that cannot use COM 2 (GPSmoddriver) instal Questub.cab (search using google). everything just go perfect know...
Guest Hiroshi.Rio Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) Finally! The new .cab (02.02 added) works like a charm on iGO8 (port 7 / baud 19200) without XTRA. Now I REALLY have a gps. :D Edited February 14, 2011 by Hiroshi.Rio
Guest xheretic Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Finally! The new .cab (02.02 added) works like a charm on iGO8 (port 7 / baud 19200) without XTRA. Now I REALLY have a gps. :D How did you do that? I just install "aGPS_tweaknodllnewIP.cab" and try to start TomTom, gps configured to OtherNMEA-19200baud-Com7, and still only "WAITING FOR FIX..."
Guest Hiroshi.Rio Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 @xheretic: In fact I really don't know. I tested a several patches for +1 year and never have worked. But this one works like a charm. Maybe helps: 1) I installed first aGPS_tweakwithdll.cab (one of many patches that did not work... +10 minutes and no fix) 2) Then I updated PHONE part with JJ1 (just to update...) 3) Then I installed aGPS_tweaknodllnewIP.cab (hope never dies...) Now it works. Differently my old HTC devices, I noticed that BAUD rate at OmniaII has a strong influence to fix. I've tested all BAUD rates at iGO and what really worked for me was 19200.
Guest João Vicente Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) All those kind of gps fix don't work... its bull@#$ the problem its on hardware itself not just software... FORGET ABOUT IT! This "new" phone update I get the gps a liltle better, but still sux! Edited February 26, 2011 by João Vicente
Guest SkoreK89 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 So i must install only "aGPS_tweaknodllnewIP.cab"? Without other cabs?
Guest João Vicente Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 aGPS use data plan, this is sux... better use GPS itself
Guest Darius P. Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 aGPS use data plan, this is sux... better use GPS itself it's strange to have PDA without data plan...
Guest João Vicente Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 it's strange to have PDA without data plan... :( Wellcome to Brasil, about 25USD for a simple plan with very limited talk time, and about 5mb for data. Brasil one of highest cell phone cost in the world
Guest Darius P. Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Wellcome to Brasil, about 25USD for a simple plan with very limited talk time, and about 5mb for data. Brasil one of highest cell phone cost in the world wow :( In Lithuania 4usd - 100mb. or 7.6usd - 1gb, 3G+ speed up to 6mbps.
Guest João Vicente Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 wow :( In Lithuania 4usd - 100mb. or 7.6usd - 1gb, 3G+ speed up to 6mbps. Its that why I look for gps fix without agps! LOL Usually I get agps (xtra) from my wifi. My GPS (no from cellphone) fix it in about 1m. My omnia without xtra take about 10min! When I download xtra from wifi, I get the fix in 1min less... But in two days its outdated, sometime I go to travel I can get gps working less 10min... shame... I use latest phone.bin (JJ1), get a lock bit faster. But I get hot fix sometimes faster (about 9min 0_o) when I get a clean sky without too much clouds... Its not a software problem, its a hardware problem... I aready try several fix, fixes, cabs, blablabla... none works. Just download xtra sometimes and everything its fine! LOL

Simple> why old phone part worce (for gps fix) then new phone part... PDA without internet it's just a phone. And if You realy need normal/good navigation- buy PNA. :D It's just my opinion...

Guest _Rix_ Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 strange, in final cab only small diferences, I think it depends on rom ver. you are using. if you have data plan - leave xtra enabled. for that tests i used Jackaway's rom (omnix 1.3 no lzx, a JG5 modd rom, win 6.5), now i try with a new rom 6.5.3 (omnix 653 xl 1.0), made by jack! in final cab, i can see mod for "QOS" in nogarder/menu/settings, and for "Roaming", right? yes i have a data plan, than i put all enable in submenu "XTRA" :D Thanks!!!!!

Guest AgX Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Hi Darius! After several days of testing I have to say, that "aGPS_final.cab" works really like a charm. Totally awesome. I have no data plan, but even in this case I have fix now mostly in 20 seconds, exceptionally more (depends on whatever). Before fix it was very poor - sometimes more than 4 minutes. (I have now JJ1 phone) So I'd like to thank You very much! Remark: strange for me - if I just did that registry corrections according to Post #130, it even stopped working. I had to revert it. But then, when I installed that final cab, suddenly it works fine. Remark2: just sometimes I have feeling, that accuracy is little bit worse then in previous time. Also signal lost during navigation is probably more often (fortunately fixed back very quickly, so no problem). This is just my feeling, not sure.

Maybe you are using Primo 1.2 ? With primo 1.1 and igo 8 not noticed any signal lost. Anyway your are welcome.
