Does anybody managed to login into Skype via official Skype App?

I couldn't login on LCR 1.8.2.2 on top of Froyo 4.503.00 =/

It would be wonderful if it is possible :)

i'm running last froyo leak but doesn't log in under 3g

haven't tryed through wifi

i'm pretty sure it's designed like that, to prevent you from using an unlimited data plan for unlimited phone calls.

Works very well for me (running rooted 4.002 on an A1), but I have to say, the official Skype app is a memory hog (12MB) and is a pain to quit (you have to kill the service for it to stop, and even then it leaves its icon in the notification bar).

it doesn't log on :)

me neither, latest leak,

I suppose is a problem with their auth server, but I uninstalled

weird ui bug, not able to connect, not able to move2sd, shortage of ram due to acer ui + launcher pro plus...

I really hope they allow Fring to use their service again...

skype i'm working to me this afternoon. the quality of sound is perfect. this evening i'm have the logon error. it seems that the skype servers are saturated for the high demand for the presentation of android app.

the aplicattion is great but its dificult to exit on the app and it's impossible to redirect the mono sound of the skype call through the parrot handsfree :)

works very well here, over wifi & 3g. On 2g some lag.. but as first release can be usable :-)

EDIT:

Directly from Twitter (by Skype):

We’re sorry to those of you who had problems signing in to our Android app earlier - problem now resolved

It will be cool if we can sign in and use Skype on Liquid as on PC, then as long as we have 3G or WiFi connection, we can make free calls all over the world.

Agreed, kind of annoying to have another icon on the top, and pressing back won't minimize the app either, you need to press the home key. And the icon is ugly anyway, nice app and all, just like it to be cleaner and more "integrated" to android's ui

overall, it is better than nothing :)

If you select your profile tab, open menu and you will find the exit button: it will log you out, then simply press back button.

Strange thing, i have two liquids, one with 2.1 firmware without mods and second with Xian LiquidF v1. 2.1 connects through wi-fi, you call and etc. But with second every time (with internet connection on) you start skype, it just cloces in 5-10 seconds. sucks.

Same for me ( I'm poor, I only own 1 Liquid, the wrong one, as You see from my signature ).

Also have annoying random reboots on turning off WIFI as usual with Xian/Koud

No solution ?

It was faster telling that, than telling that one is mine, and another is my mum's

To all who can't connect to Skype service through data connection : maybe your provider blocked some ports and that's why you can't log in/make calls.

As much as I remember, I have always been able to log in and call since Skype was released on the market, whether I was on 1.8.2 (on top of last official eclair bin) or even on the newer LCR-F on top of last froyo leak. It worked on both data and wifi connections.
