A blue section has appeared on my screen

I have just noticed a blue section has appeared on my screen about 4mm x 4mm in size, looks like the screen is damaged. Shows up well on a black background and not at all on a white background.

Only had the optimus about 4 weeks from CPW.

Is there any way to fix something like this?

Will this be covered by warranty?
