Fastboot driver install keeps failing

I've had this problem before but unfortunately I can't remember how I solved it. Maybe I should have documented the solution back when it happened before. :)

Every time I try to run the Acer firmware update utility it fails at the point where it attempts to install the Acer Fastboot Interface.

I've tried removing all of the registry keys for the Acer Liquid and re-installing the drivers again but the same thing happens.

Has anybody any pointers?

EDIT: See attached screenshot, also if anyone speaks any of the below languages I have found others with similar problem but can't understand.

EDIT AGAIN: I thought turning on USB Debug might help but I got another error as attached.

I finally got it. I tried many things. It may have been a combination but I think the main point was deleting the following files from C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

androidusb.sys

usbccgp.sys

usbstor.sys

wdf01000.sys

I had also deleted package inf and pnf files relating to my liquid from the C:\windows\inf folder.

Seems like deleting the registry keys did nothing.

In the end the latest Acer flashing tool worked without a hitch.
