Hi. When I install the ROM it gets as far as:

...

...

Formatting BOOT:...

E:Board does not support mtd utils.E:Failure at line 420

write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT:

Installation aborted.

My just sticks at the android when I turn it on now.

When I try to install a stock image I get the same message (except it's line 77)

Can anyone help me out please?

Use this instead of 2.5.1.3

Using this recovery. 2.5.0.9 i can't backup/restore ext3. But it works with ext2 Paul. Just though it worth mentioning. Haven't tried newest due to all the complaints^

Incidentally, 2.5.1.3 DOES partition the SD correctly. :P

EXT3 is kernel dependent.

Just noticed something.

On the Hungarian Blade (what I'm using now for a day) the colors are a bit off. I mean, if I look at the recovery, every red/orange is blue and vice versa. Noticed this on your rooted boot.img too, Paul, so I guess you were using an Orange version boot.img for the recovery build.

Could you please create a recovery for us Hungarian Blade users too?

Thanks in advance!

Actually even 2.5.0.9 partitions. I formatted my card using the old Desire push recovery you made (remember that? lol) and after that Clockwork now is able to partition too. :D

is there a basic necessity to upgrade from 2.5.0.9 ???

I've never messed with recovery images but I imagine that it might be possible to use the custom kernel I've made. You can extract it from the boot.img in Hungarian Hedgehog RLS2. That kernel supports both OLED and LCD displays (no Red-Blue swap on LCD displays) and also it supports EXT3.

same goes for reverting to the old version? or is it a case of fastboot-windows blah blah as the original install??

Paul this is a great rom, best Froyo rom so far I think.

But will you be able to make the ZTE Blade jailbreak the PS3?

A bit offtopic but...

That's something that needs modífying and recompiling the kernel. I have no PS3, otherwise I would try. But from what I've heard it's a bit more work adding it to the 2.6.29 kernel compared to the newer kernel versions.

Hi, just trying to upload clockworkrecovery but cant get it to send to my SF.

I've installed the ZTE drivers, and copied the necessary files into the c:\fastboot network location etc. I've connected my phone to the computer, after turning it on whilst pressing "up" on the volume control. Green android man is showing on screen.

Plugged in the SF into my PC and ran the command line.

Then it just sits at "waiting for device"

Anybody help please?

Thanks

First thing, is the SF definitely connected to the PC - does it appear in the device manager? I had a few goes myself but it was down to my inability to type ;)

just download directly on your phone to sd card then

terminal

su

flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

reboot

Cheers for this tip, I used this method to flash the new clockworkmod over the previous version.

Try a different USB port, or install the USB drivers for adb.

Just incase anyone else hits the E: board does not support wall, install the older version and you'll be fine. There is a much longer post I made in the main section of the forum.

Maybe something like

ro.sf.hwrotation=180

in system.prop would fix that upside down issue?

Or some kind or kernel parameter maybe?

Hi, I'm trying to format my ext3 partition with clockworkmod, but I'm getting the error

Cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

(No such device)

Error mounting /sd-ext/!

The partition is detected in android. Anyone know what might be the problem?

The kernel in the Clockwork Recovery does not support EXT3. When I get some time I will see if I can replace it with my custom kernel.

EDIT: Try the attached recovery image. I've replaced the kernel with one that supports EXT3.

EDIT2: This version should also look correct on LCD displays

Thanks, tried installing a rom and wiping an ext partition, both working. Just seems to take longer to boot into recovery and reboot after flashing rom compared to normal version.
