Tethering SanFrancisco for Ipad Wifi

Dear Experts, I am very new to Forums and infact most IT, however in my limited knowlege I understand from "Paul" there is an app called "Wireless Tether" which allows me to use my tesco (o2) internet data on my Ipad.

The issue I am having is that my Phone is stating an error "sorry, but your kernel does not have all the necessary features for the access control feature of this application. Access control will ve disabled."

I think (prob incorrectly) that a custom firmware/flash will allow me to update the software to allow me to do this.

My questions are

1) Is this possible.

2) Does anyone have an IDIOTS guide to do this .... Please. :)

Ps Phone is unlocked & Ipad is not jailbroken.

Wireless Tether wont work as we don't have the kernel source, download barnacle from the market instead, that works fine for tethering.

Barnacle wifi tether works fine with SF + Ipad. I use that combination all the time.
