Anyone else finding thier SF a little 'jerky' in it's operation?

Can anyone be more specific about which particular lags and jerks they see? I upgraded from an iPhone 3G and it had its own share of weird slowdowns, hangs and other nonsense (the one that particularly annoyed me is plugging in a car adaptor and it taking a minute to do some kind of security check and bother me with a spurious compatibility message that I needed to dismiss every time). I'd say the SanFran (despite similar hardware except for a much better screen) is overall a large step up.

One particular "jerky" thing I have noticed is that, particularly when browsing it takes a small amount of time for the SanFran to realise whether I'm pressing or scrolling, since I might just have a slightly wobbly finger. Once it decide that I've gone far enough that I'm definitely trying to scroll the page "jumps" to instantly catch up with my finger. I think I read somewhere that on the iPhones the page speeds up slowly from a standstill as it follows your finger, then slows down again as it catches up. A nice little interface tweak, but nothing that's going to keep me up at night because I'm missing out on it. And crucially, not anything to do with cheap components, Java or missing GPU acceleration.

I tried whizzing the settings menu (which someone mentioned) up and down for about ten minutes (on my stock SanFran) and I think(!) I can detect some kind of wobble after I let it go and it continues on with inertia, but to be honest I couldn't swear to it even after staring at it with all my attention. Am I just lucky, blind or easily pleased?

I have TRIED to play final fantasy VI in 2.1 eclair. No way, unplayable, screen refresh every 3 or 4 secs.

In 2.2 game is smooth and fast :)

P.S. : no ZTE's benchmark with 2.2 OS ?
