cant get 3G data to work

hi all,

I received the phone last night, used orange sim to make sure it worked, registered it, but unlocked it anyway and put in o2 sim. Worked fine for calls, didnt test 3G mind. Anyway i rooted it and put on r3 followed the guide on here. so far so good, lovely little phone btw. Set up the o2 mms apn from the thread on here too, sent a mms from this to my iphone dif number, all worked, sent one back, again all worked. Though i have two data issues, one has been covered so i will leave that (on/off wifi access) but the main issue is 3G/Data will not work on o2. the text active didnt work, and i have only one apn setup for the mms. When enabling Data Connection under Mobile Network Settings it says connection failed, although has green tick. Also its registerd on o2 fine and i can make calls, can anyone shed some light please? i feel such a mong - when i read the topic back and realised i only had one apn, the mms one, wheres the data one, hmmm shall i add this one ?

Username: payandgo

Password: password

Left everything else as default.

I connect with an "E" (guessing means Edge)

Do not know how to force a 3G connection - I should be in a 3g zone?

yeah the thread i first referenced got me up and running, i did think (&hope) the settings would auto come from the sim, or even when i tried the active 2020 text, either way, am sorted :)
