stop complainging about the damn downloads issue it's something im looking at but cant reproduce as yet - i know the problems their theirs no need to constantly complain about it

Steve...

We're not complaining. We're pointing out an issue to you - don't take this personally. We understand that you may not be able to reproduce it, but could you provide us with the tools you're using with version numbers and date stamps so we can help ourselves? I saw somewhere else that the Clockworkmod we're using may not be correct, or that ADB may be a version off. Help us to help you. We appreciate the hard work - right now as long as I can use my Streak as a phone, that's what matters. Getting my apps back and running is actually secondary.

Hey Stephen,

got that same Market Download Issue and maybe this information helps:

you said in one Post that "mnt" should be chmod´ed 777 ... I tryed that and i got "Unable to chmod /mnt: read-only file system"

strange thing here is that WAS working until after a reboot and putting the SIM card in the streak i got :

"UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable"

i did that (wipe/factory reset) and got that App Install error again ...

Chmod 777 on Data doesnt help ...

just for your information ... no complaining .. great work dude

Yeah, it looks like the major issue is that some of these directories aren't being wiped properly. Some folks are coming back saying that they're seeing persistence of data even after Clockworkmod or ADB have been applied, supposedly after a wipe of data. If we can clear these directories properly perhaps this problem will go away. This is why we need version numbers and date stamps for each tool used in this process - this will ensure that everyone's using the right tools. I don't think that's the case right now.

well if im using my linux box im running the newest android sdk adb which iirc is 1.0.29 or .29 - haven got system running at min to check

edit: i would heavily suggest EVERYONE having problems with downloads/fcs/lockups downgrade back to 1.1.1 for the moment the 2 files you need(update zip and 2.1 baseband file) are linked below.

update: http://build2.streakdroid.com/update-release-1.1.1.zip

2.1 baseband : http://downloads.streakdroid.com/testing/amss-2.1.mbn

Thanks. All that I ask is for step by step instructions for the "fix" if you find it. Maybe we can start a new thread for 2.2 v 1.20 so that this becomes clean and not buried under 130 pages of a thread. BTW, I'm in a Windows environment.

I dont know if this will help, but in the partition menu, where you format the boot, system, data, cache, and sd-ext, when you try to format sd-ext, i get an error

No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext.

Yeah, got that problem too ... I´ve done a full wipe/factory reset - even formated every single partition manually in ClockworkRecovery and after a reboot everything was there as i just done a regular reboot ... only going pack to 1.1.1 helped to clear the data ...

clockwork factory reset DOES NOT WIPE DATA it doesn know about the streaks internal microsd and doesn mount it hence the data and cache partitions it wipes are not correct, the dell factory reset wipes microsd

this topic has grown 10% in just a few hours...

reading the change log (p1) this build seems the best ever

but reading the last few pages, i'm gonna be sitting this one out for a while...

arriving to android 2 short weeks ago i was delighted at the 'how to' guides & community spirit, knowing nothing i quickly 'bricked' my device but quickly was able to fix it.

Now however, there's so much talk of ADB, cmd line & various revisions of SDK etc

plus a lot of the community spirit seems to have dispersed... i'm sorry but people aren't born with knowledge... yes the endless people asking about fastboot & baseband is annoying...

.....but people being "told off" because they don't happen to know the correct linux programming commands & can't follow vague instructions.... (like "launch ADB" i mean c'mon imagine learning to drive & your instructor says 'well drive then.. you idiot')

I realise that the entirity of this thread is driven by the unpaid & under thanked work of a few talented individuals & i'm not trying to take anything way from their amazing work, help & guidance, i'm really not

but rather than be yet another noob d1ckhead asking silly questions i'm going sit this one out.

It's hardly as if v1.0(+) was bad, i can wait.

but my €0.02 says this new build isn't 100% - to many post flash probs & the flash method seems to be work / don't work - not configurable to account for the issues people are facing.

(in that if you F the flash method, it won't flash, but plenty have successfully flashed & had app install issues)

Thanks

+1 on this

& the search function of modaco is pretty pants compared xda, so i'm not surprised every other post is an already answered question

With over 2617 posts in this thread, maybe people could be encouraged to start a new topic with issues found.

At this moment Factory Reset deletes nothing .. (???).

I´ve tried the Factory reset from the Dell Menu (Power on with both volume Keys down) and nothing changes ... and from the "Privacy Menu" the "Erase everything" button has no function ... (Nothing happens when i press it)

strange ....

i have the same problem so i used fastboot to delete/wipe, had more success this way.

it would be nice to have a sticky thread pointing to the IRC chatroom, rather than have to hit f5 every 2 minutes.

Yep, that's what happened to me, try to root using androot, after a while superuser app start to force close, try installing titanium first unsuccessful install try the second time it install but force close when trying to open. Try everything am out off ideas. Really want this build to work it was looking gd for a while

I have the exact same issues and have had no luck resolving them.
