Guest simpl3lang Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) wow. finally got mine to work. playing angry birds right now lol. and titanium got my stars back. what i did was downgrade to v1.1.1. make sure your able to boot with 1.1.1 before wiping resetting. if you manage to boot v1.1.1 power off the streak. then go to dell recovery menu. and select option 2. format data/system/cache. then update to v1.2.0 then reboot. if stuck on logo, tun off streak and boot to dell recovery, and reset factory. if that dont work, reinstall v1.2.0 again. the trick is to delete datas. but you cant do that on v1.2.0 so you have to install an older version and delete data there. then you can install v1.2.0 without the not enough space error. edit: opps steves new instructions are up...... Guest nfalletta Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Hey I tried flashing from the 2.2 beta version to the 1.2 with the new baseband. However whenever I try to install anything from the market it says the install was unsuccessful, and sometimes a prompt for insufficient storage pops up on screen or in adb logcat. It will download the app but always fail installing. Sometimes I also get read only errors in logcat as well. Tried wiping /data, rebooting, reflashing, modifying/updating build.prop. Sometimes even reflashing or wiping /data doesn't reflash or wipe because it's read only. I have 1.5 gb of phone storage free so it's not literally insufficient storage, but a permissions problem I suspect. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. Nick

Guest amccox Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 well this is donald ducked. 1.2 gets stuck at dell screen, adb wont work, cant find device - no solution. gone back to 1.1.1, added the amss-mbn 2.1 to the fastboot directory (renamed to amss.mbn) flashed using the command on the first page rebooted, gone into clockwork mod, updated via 1.1.1zip factory reset reboot stuck at bloody dell screen again.

Any help with this? any way to reverse the baseband update? Tried to install 1.1.1 to see if this might fix it but bootloader wont load, booting into recovery just gives a black screen, any ideas?

Just tried following step by step guide in pdf and I get stuck where it is manually loading bootloader as it doesn't bring up GOOGLE INC
Guest XsCode Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 It never does find the device, hence the -i 0x413c well this is donald ducked. 1.2 gets stuck at dell screen, adb wont work, cant find device - no solution.
Guest XsCode Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Google inc???? Just tried following step by step guide in pdf and I get stuck where it is manually loading bootloader as it doesn't bring up GOOGLE INC
Guest tonymenocal Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Its a sad day today my friends. Unfortunately, I will be returning my dell streak. It seems AT@T is continuing to play hard ball with me and will not remove overages from my account, thus I cannot afford my phone anymore... I really loved the Dell Streak, and bid you guys farewell... Steve you rock and will always continue to rock!!
Guest gillebob Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Just tried following step by step guide in pdf and I get stuck where it is manually loading bootloader as it doesn't bring up GOOGLE INC Google, Inc should be displayed as the manufacturer, "android bootloader interface" should be the driver your looking for.
Guest pompeyboyz Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Google, Inc should be displayed as the manufacturer, "android bootloader interface" should be the driver your looking for. It doesn't show for me.....goes from Gigabyte to Granite. No Google Inc
Guest MrMediaGuy Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 yes the quadrant scores are lower i know, half due to dells annoying ui i think, Well, to be fair, if you set ADW Launcher to default and reboot, none of the Stage stuff ever launches. I am running Dell's official internal beta, and Quadrant crashes at the end of the run so I can't compare Quadrant scores with you guys. (Stephen I think your 1.0/1.1 also crashed on Quadrant? Any idea why it works now?) In any case, I can run Linpack and Neocore and note the following: Stage Launcher (fresh reboot, idle 2 mins to let all services load and stabilize):Average over 5 Linpack runs: 32.753Slowest Linpack: 31.973Fastest Linpack: 33.507Neocore: 34.2 fps ADW Launcher (same reboot conditions):Average over 5 Linpack runs: 34.236Slowest Linpack: 33.267Fastest Linpack: 35.433Neocore: 34.4 fps So the device is *marginally* faster running ADW than Stage, which is both surprising and unsurprising. Unsurprising since of course not running the widgets should make a difference, but surprising in that the Stage Launcher is a considerably smaller piece of code than ADW (about 312K versus 2.97MB). Curious what Linpack and Neocore results you guys are seeing on the DJ_Steve version -- better, worse, or about on par with what I am seeing on the official Dell beta?

Guest sk8er000 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Excuse me but when I try to update the baseband from Windows when I go on FASTBOOT_MODE on the phone and i type the first command (fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn) I got this error: "Fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." I know that is a studip error but I'm not an expert and I don't know how to solve it..
