did you open cmd prompt pointing to the folder with fastboot in it?, the best way to do it is to hold the shift key and right click "open command window here".

yes but the error was on the .exe, just rename fastboot-windows.exe in fastboot.exe and now it works! thanks a lot!

ok thats a crash, try reflash (and read the instructions in the new thread)

Hi and thanks for the help.

I've read the new thread now, but cant figure out how I reflash it, I cant get into fastboot or recovery and if I try doing the flash whilst on the Dell screen, fast boot on the PC just stays at waiting for device.

thanks in advance and for the excellent work so far

Can any Genius here help me out Please.........I am a Noob....I cannot make any of Steve's Froyo to work on my Streak, I have been trying since day 1, the only Rom that works on my Streak is 6941-2.1 Leaked Version of 2.1 that is, I cannot upgrade to official 2.1 because I get "Verification failed" Error and cannot downgrade to 1.6 because i get "System is already up to date" Error......And even on the 2.1 leaked that I have i am unable to install apps from the market and not only that I cannot even install apps downloaded from the browser. So I am Stuck with a Big Phone without any apps at all, I have posted this problem but No one helped me out, Steve asked me for the adb logs, will someone please help me out in getting the adb logs, I dont know how to do it :)

I have the AWS T-Mobile Streak....I followed all the instructions for 1.2 and made it work but it lasted me 5 minutes and the phone turned itself Off and if i restart it I get stuck at Dell Logo :)

It Happened to me with every version of Steve's Froyo.....I think my Streak will work with Official Froyo, but I am not that Hopeful about that either......Please Help if you know What's Going On or If you know the Solution :(

Yay, new update - thanks for all the work being put into this!

I had 1.1 on my rebel'd O2 UK streak, and it worked OK with spontaneous reboots a couple times per day. Since I upgraded to 1.2 however, I have the softkey lights flashing a lot and my CPU load at 90+% almost all the time. I remember that being a problem with an incompatible recovery before.

Could it be that the new 1.2 w/o bb is not working with Koush recovery? Any ideas are appreciiated. I would like to not have to go back to 1.1 because I haven't had reboots on this one yet!

HAHAHA. Do you know how much i had to read.. and learn. There is a learning curve involved when tweaking phones like ours. I thought i had screwed my phone several times. to the point where i didn't have it for 24 or 48 hours while i was trying to figure out what i did wrong. Had a sony x10 for a while to use as a backup phone. Read and try to figure it out yourself. Thats what i had to do... maybe you should leave so then there's one less dumb person posting.

Well then, reflash the stock ROM back onto your phone!

Seriously, WTF don't you get about this being a hacked, experimental ROM? If it isn't working it is because you don't know what you are doing and are unwilling to read enough to learn. It appears that you just aren't up to the task of playing around with modified or custom Roms. No bad reflection on you personally (though this post of yours on the other hand was quite juvenile), it just appears that you don't have the requisite skills to be messing around with a very expensive phone like the Streak in the manner that you are attempting.

So I suggest you read the thread about downgrading your phone to the stock Dell ROM, follow the directions to the letter, and then use it instead of breaking it and then blaming other people for your incompetence.

Just a thought from someone who has no problems installing custom ROM's.

Too bad, he shouldn't be playing with O2 ROMs then.

If he'd read some of the other threads before jumping in he'd probably have seen that TMobile isn't really a supported model.

Nice guy like him should have had to sell his phone.

Optus Streak 1.6 Build 8116

does this

fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn

work like QDLtool baseband update? I mean if I do this, can I flash any rom after that?

yes, that is exactly the same as using the baseband tool. although the baseband tool flashes a few more things that i'm not too sure about. like partitions and other images.

Dell started cooking i think before 3-4 months, now cooking, going on cooking still not yet released froyo.

You have started cooking and released beta on 8th of OCtober and released many versions and I'm using 1.1.1 and it just like a original version.

Thanks Stephen Hyde. You are great!

And soon i will upgrade to 1.2.0.

Excuse me but when I try to update the baseband from Windows when I go on FASTBOOT_MODE on the phone and i type the first command (fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn) I got this error:

"Fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file."

I know that is a studip error but I'm not an expert and I don't know how to solve it..

i had the same problem too, i had to type "fastboot.exe" windows is a pain!!! i then renamed the folder to "fastboot" and all was happy again :-) i also kept forgetting to close the c:\ folder open which prompts cmd to reel off all the input codes rather than doing what its told...

so make sure you 'right click' properties on all files to check windows hasnt added an extra .exe/.img/.zip and close your folders/windows... worked for me :-)

Hey all,

I just updated to 2.2-1.2.0, and whenever I try to install an app from market, it fails "installation of... unsuccessful". So, I tried a package off of SD, and then in app manager I get the error stating "out of space". I tried to clearing up a few things, got a couple apps to install, but then on the 3rd or 4th app, I get another message.

This is my second time going back through the process of downgrading to 1.6 and working my way back up to 2.2-1.2.0 with the same issue. Hoping someone has a way to fix this issue? Does this Froyo build just use too much of the internal space?

I see other people have had this issue. Sorry, but I am trying to avoid looking through 138 pages of forums, it would be appreciated if someone could link me a fix, if it exists, or otherwise repaste. Thanks.

When you upgraded from 1.6 to 2.1 to 2.2-v1.20 did you install 2.2-v1.1.1 first or jump straight to 1.2.0? If not, you need to downgrade to 1.1.1 and follow the directions EXACTLY as they are laid out in post number 1. You may also want to direct any new questions to the new 1.2.0 thread.
