Guest User Error Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 my battery issues seem to be coming from having wifi on. i have no wifi @ work and have had it turned off and had less than 15% drop since about 9 am. one other thing, when i get an sms i get multiple copies, even after having replied to the text.
Guest radddogg Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Both 2.2 update links are down.
Guest popetodd Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I would hope that is because Steve is changing them to disconnect that thieving hack Matt over at his theft site.
Guest HoTdiGiTi Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Plus also he said on twitter he has a new boot.img which hopefully improves battery life and is looking for testers
Guest andycap Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I managed to get my gps locking faster, it is now working like it used to. I had a play with gps.conf in /system/etc the following is my modified gps.conf NTP_SERVER=uk.pool.ntp.org XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin # DEBUG LEVELS: 0 - none, 1 - Error, 2 - Warning, 3 - Info # 4 - Debug, 5 - Verbose DEBUG_LEVEL = 0 # Intermediate position report, 1=enable, 0=disable INTERMEDIATE_POS=0 # Accuracy threshold for intermediate positions # less accurate positions are ignored, 0 for passing all positions # ACCURACY_THRES=5000 ################################ ##### AGPS server settings ##### ################################ # FOR SUPL SUPPORT, set the following SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com SUPL_PORT=7276 # FOR C2K PDE SUPPORT, set the following # C2K_HOST=c2k.pde.com or IP # C2K_PORT=1234 ################################ # EXTRA SETTINGS ################################ # Wiper (wifi positioning), 1=enable, 0=disable ENABLE_WIPER=1 CURRENT_CARRIER=COMMON DEFAULT_AGPS_ENABLE=TRUE DEFAULT_SSL_ENABLE=FALSE DEFAULT_USER_PLANE=TRUE Make sure you backup your original if you use this. Guest JaysFreaky Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Just got a mail from Google congratulating me on getting a Nexus One :) I got that too. haha I've switched to 180 for a bit of a change and that works really well. 240 was like holding a phone for the elderly! I'm running 180 as well. It almost feels perfect. if you update to an official froyo build from dell then it'll work fine. but the 2.1 has ro.serialno empty so it's not being used, it must be something else. We're trying to work out what its using, fingerprint doesnt work, changing android_id doesn't work, but there must be something that google are using to identify roms. I've been playing with this trying to get it to work all morning. I've got a 16 digit android_id set in the database you mentioned, however, it doesn't seem to be rolling over to ro.serial for some reason. I've been looking up ways to insert it, but nothing yet. Just for good measure, I even tried adding ro.serial=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to build.prop and still nothing.

Guest spacecat46 Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I find the LCD density set at 180 is about perfect, esp if you have slightly dodgy eyesight but not yet Mr Magoo

Guest neil tring Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Hmm i must be doing something completly wrong. Managed to get 2.1 working a while ago but 2.2 has me stumped. Done excatly the update.zip route but when i reboot holding the volume buttons and select update via .zip it doesnt boot clockwork mod of which i bought off market. Im guessing flashbooting, need to read up, will solve this problem? Many thanks.
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 new update zip will be going up soon, am including gps fixes courtesy of andycap & fards too, aswell as modified boot.img which should help battery life somewhat hopefully
Guest neil tring Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Surely it cant be the .zip? Maybe clockwork mod as i remember reading that the one off market has a glitch and its better to flashboot that?
Guest gingernator Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 It maybe worth while putting version numbers and release dates in the thread title so we know if we're running the latest version or not. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the great rom.
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 ok new update zip is up :) check first post for info its been heavily edited
Guest navrac Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 ok new update zip is up :) check first post for info its been heavily edited Excellent - on my way....

Guest neil tring Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Hmm having build 6491 and baseband GAUSB1A120321-EU cause problems?
Guest navrac Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) just hope titanium backup restores everything as it was - I had just set it up exactly how I liked it. I was running for 23 hours still with 40% battery left so I wasn't too worried about the battery. this 5 minute for first boot seems to be a lifetime..... It Lives! now for the restore biab Edited October 11, 2010 by navrac
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 if it takes ages pull batt and power back on usually gives it a kick
Guest fards Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Hmm having build 6491 and baseband GAUSB1A120321-EU cause problems? thats 1.6 not 2.1 you need 8105 first
Guest neil tring Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Wierd, after i typed that i just did some reading. Got 8105 so just going to get on with it now :) Sorry to be a nuisance :)
Guest raidet Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 ok new update zip is up :) check first post for info its been heavily edited Steve are you still updating the fastboot flashable version? Zip method breaks my cell service for some reason... Ta
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Steve are you still updating the fastboot flashable version? Zip method breaks my cell service for some reason... Taill assume you updated baseband...if so flash back to 2.1 8105 then update zips will work
Guest navrac Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) Interesting - the wifi signal strength jumps up and down in the status bar - and the busybox installer doesn't work - so cant run titanium backup to restore things. I'll keep trying. Ok my mistake - started titanium before busybox and then forgot to shut down titanium before installing busybox. Sadly Titanium didn't work completely! so back to installing apn's and putting all the widgets/shortcuts back.... Edited October 11, 2010 by navrac
Guest the_didge Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 hey Steve Great rom, some truely inspirational work youve done. I have a small request as the rom will be getting lots of bug fixes before full release, would it be possible to set the new updates as non wipe updates in order to maintain apps/settings as restoring from titanium is a little bit dodgey sometimes. thanks :)
