Guest jamezwarner Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 (edited) err if the power on is not working, then how we gonna use our phone? It powers on fine, but to turn it off you need to pull the battery.... Just found another bug - the camera app crashes if you choose h264 encoding instead of mp4 and then you cannot use the camera anymore :) Edited October 8, 2010 by jamezwarner
Guest spences10 Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Hahaha, I know man, just running other stuff right now and haven't had a chance to boot into windows partition. I was just including the disclaimer because I still feel like an android noob, lol. I am the Mayor of noob town :) welcome, welcome. err if the power on is not working, then how we gonna use our phone? LOL
Guest jamezwarner Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Bugger, anyone know where the camera stores it's settings? Totally killed it :) James
Guest fards Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 So the whinging starts already... if you have issues then A) try and fix them.. :) don't whine about them. C) remember no-one forced you to flash this, its not an official rom, its done in someones spare time, BE GRATEFUL
Guest jamezwarner Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 We all are grateful, but it still helps to all document the problems we find, so the community is able to look at them... To update the power off problem reported by myself and one other - you just have to leave it longer before attempting to power on, obviously it's still shutting down behind the scenes even though the screen is off If you break your camera, you can use rootexplorer to edit the second xml in data/com.android.camera/shared-prefs to set it back to mp4 James
Guest rhyd Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Just found another bug - the camera app crashes if you choose h264 encoding instead of mp4 and then you cannot use the camera anymore :) What other settings did you have? h264 works fine for me :S
Guest jamezwarner Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 What other settings did you have? h264 works fine for me :S Resolution 720P Video h264 (or h263 that breaks it too) Audio AMRNB Video Quality Custom Can you confirm that works for you? Editing the xml didn't help - I had to reboot then edit the settings... James
Guest rza.android Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 (edited) Hi I put my streak to sleep last night with at least 66% battery after a full recharge, and after browsing some market apps. Woke up this morning and battery was at 22% Battery usage says cell standby used 41% Phone Idle 32% Edited October 8, 2010 by rza.android

Guest Stephen Hyde Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 settings > lanuage and keyboard setting > select language should fix that in theoryu
Guest jamezwarner Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Best way to get to fast boot is to power on as normal, then press+hold camera button as soon as you see the dell logo, can you try that? another way to check you have the new basebank OK is to plug the charger in whilst off - you should see an iphone'y battery logo James

Guest Be Vigilant Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 (edited) Just thought I would quickly post another success. UK unlocked streak upgraded to 21 baseband and 2.1 ROM. Flashed everything using my old rubbish XP netbook. Supersmooth no issues at all. Booting up the streak didnt take as long as some people are saying on here either. It was well under 5 minutes. 3 UK APN was auto installed my HSDPA is working fine with no input needed Swype has stopped swyping like it has expired. I installed my co-pilot Live EU from market place I now have 2 co-pilot apps installed Donation will be on its way. Thanks SO much for your time and effort Stephen. Guest andycqos Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Excuse the silly question - but what would be the best way to get back to 2.1 from 2.2? Would using something like RomManager to make a backup of the ROM work?
