Guest cowballz Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 strange swipe works now on my phone but when i swipe no words pop up
Guest feanaro Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 For me the main thing is Clockworkdmod doesnt load. So i get android recovery running. paid for and downloaded clockwork from the market, also flashbooted to get it up too. Neither seems to work. I found that I had to load ClockWork by CMD and flashing to then be able to pull it up and flash the .zip. I also found really great instructions on using ClockWork on Unlockr.com inn their article on updating Streak to Eclair. I'm now happily on Beta1 with no issues. Cheers
Guest HoTdiGiTi Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 strange swipe works now on my phone but when i swipe no words pop up Thats because the beta ran out for that version, just like mine has. Anyone have the October beta version i could have?
Guest Nick S Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 I found this line in build.prop after Additional Build Properties, "ro.build.APP_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE=1" That isn't in the build.prop for my nexus one. This might be what forces the phone into landscape if you try to lock the orientation?
Guest thehodapp Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) Just wondering. I was looking around the root and I was wondering, does the /firstboot directory need to be on the filesystem or can I delete it? It's got a bunch of messed up files in it that mess up searches. Guest Mr Kyle Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) I found this line in build.prop after Additional Build Properties, "ro.build.APP_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE=1" That isn't in the build.prop for my nexus one. This might be what forces the phone into landscape if you try to lock the orientation? I've thought the same thing but have never had the gumption to actually change it. EDIT: Just changed 1 to 0 no change. And tried deleting the line, which for some reason killed my data Edited October 13, 2010 by Mr Kyle
Guest coronet Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 So what's up with a handful of apps not wanting to load? Is this because Titanium Backup screwing stuff up when it recovered?
Guest digthemlows Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 I suggest with each beta a new thread gets started......41 pages in and it's hard for folks to figure out stuff.........people are bringing up the same issues over and over again.......yes, the front camera doesn't work, but it does with Fring......App store is screwed up.....takes a while for GPS to find you at first......sometimes the screen sticks in portrait..........battery life is still a little iffy, more so on version 1..........etc etc........

Or put all these in the known issues bit in the first post. I appears the apps that don't show up or install in the Market do work, but the APKs need to be downloaded manually... which can be hard to find. Can anyone confirm this?

I appears the apps that don't show up or install in the Market do work, but the APKs need to be downloaded manually... which can be hard to find. Can anyone confirm this? That's correct. I've manually installed Fring, Skype and Google Earth and they work fine.
Guest coronet Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 That's correct. I've manually installed Fring, Skype and Google Earth and they work fine. Hmm... is there a central place for apps (I guess free apps, since paid apps could lead to piracy)? Would like to get Listen working again.
Guest fards Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Anyone else having issues getting cell/data to work after updating to v2? I have tried twice to image it via ClockWork as instructed.. everything loads, but i have no cell/data connection after the update. Any suggestions? Have you tried setting your networks apn manually?
Guest BooToo Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) Well... I made the 2.2 jump last night at 3AM (Insomnia) on my O2 unlocked running O2 2.1 Installation process took very little time and everything went well (few explanations in the Tuto are not in line with reality but if you have a brain, you are fine) I now have 2.2 running like a charm and did not even have to enter my APN settings (I am using a Three UK montly data plan and all the APN setting were already populated when I got the the right screen) I downloaded straight away Flash and Air from the market. STeve, you are a Star!!! Looking FW to your Cyanogen release!!! Edited October 13, 2010 by BooToo

Guest jnovello Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Mine doesn't charge in 20 minutes. Is that accurate? Yes, using the wall charger it does. USB is trickle down so it can take an hour or more.
Guest Be Vigilant Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 So no one else charges overnight and wakes up to phone being off? I do this everynight as like you I like to start the day with a full charge and not be tethered to a power socket. I have never had this problem before not even with the first beta. However I flashed to the new beta yesterday. Placed phone on charge over night and woke up to a dead phone. Had to remove battery to get it to turn on.
Guest jutley Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Jutley Please see your PM. I had this problem. The only solution for me was to select "Factory Reset" and now it works. Probably not the most elegate solution, but quickest for me in the long run. I have tried that many times but still the same it seems there is a problem with a mnority of wpa wpa2 psk
Guest vinokirk Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) I got it to work. This is what I did: - download the latest apk. - Using rootexplorer search for "libSwypeCore.so“ and delete it. You can also find it inside system/lib/libSwypeCore.so - Install the swype latest apk. - Enjoy. =) I'm enjoying swype as I type. Calin75...genius! You've made my Streak keyboard useable again! Guest jutley Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 for the wpa issues, as well as ad-hoc...solution from another thread. replace wpa_supplicant in /system/bin folder with this one: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?act=at...st&id=61143 worked for me. I use a ad hoc network between my iphone and my streak and before I updated this file it wouldn't read any ad hoc networks. It should pick up everything.
