Well, I updated a couple of days ago and I'm shocked at how stable this beta is. I have only one bug to speak hut I haven't heard others mentioning lately so ill post it. Please let me know if there is something I'm doing wrong.

The phone locks in landscape mode shortly after boot at first I can switch to portrait even on the home screen. But pretty quickly it stops.working and I can't switch even web pages or other applications.

I'm on a US ATT phone btw.

same here, I've had the landscape / portrait problem a couple of times, sometimes it automaticaly switches. a hot reboot fixes this though, i also have a problem with the slider lock, sometimes it only slides half way up and resets to the bottom, i'm presuming this has something to do with lcd density as i never had this problem at stock density.

Hi Just got a copy of COPILOT that runs OK on 2.2 but having a problem locking the GPS

it shows that it is finding quite a number of Satellites but no Lock ..any one got a fix ?

A bit Strange but I booted it up again and took the Streak out of its Case and it Locked Perfectly

The Case has a Magnet to Close it and was woundering if that would be the Cause of GPS troubles ?.

Oh yes its the magnet i allways tell people not to buy magnet casses they allways activate keylock yea wierd but true

I've not noticed this problem. I'm using launcherpro with density 200. I'm not sure if the launcher would make a difference or not. Might be worth checking.

I hope this not taken as off topic, though it can’t be any more so than sukicat’s spam touting for leather cases.

I am preparing to upgrade but am stuck on a problem with Dell’s PC Suite with my 2.1 Build 6941. It is very glitchy and doesn’t recognise my Streak as a USB device . Furthermore in Device Manager/Android Phone/Android Composite ADB Device is shown as OK but there is an error by Android Bootloader Interface.

As a consequence I suspect that fastboot.exe probably won’t work.

I have followed Dell’s suggested and convoluted installation procedure but to no avail.

Would anyone have a solution I wonder? Would a reflash to 2.1 Build 8105 solve the issue, can anyone say?

Here I have uploaded screenshots of how my ADW setup looks like. If you like it. All you need to do is to press middle button on the Streak, Go to ADW Settings, Screen Preferences, here you can set desktop columns and rows. There are many settings there, play with it until you get something you like.

wow your fancy widget looks awesome.. unlike mine which the date is has too big gap or too small till they overlapped each other..

mind sharing your setting as no matter what my setting is (for desktop columns n rows) i just can't get it right! :)

Update the network it dont find is WPA/WPA PSK its a BT router

Strange cos im connect to a BT home hub now but im on the very first froyo with the baseband flash. Have u tried that ROM

I'm using the baseband flash version and can connect fine to my bt home hub.

I've changed my LCD density to 240 and am very happy with the result except the dialer is borked a bit as a result.

is there a skin for it I can install or something?

I've been experimenting with the LCD density setting as well. The video on the Fox News app does not render correctly unless the setting is 200 or higher and the dialer skin does not render correctly at settings above 200 so that kind of narrows it down to leaving it at 200. YMMV, though. BTW I'm 6x6 on rows and columns and things look pretty good.

I am using Weather & Toggle widgets using H7C Clock widget and H7C weather skin. There are lots of settings in this widget. You can customize it as you like it.

Just wanted to say thank you to steve and everyone else on the forums. I finally have Froyo on my streak. Upgraded from O2 8105 using update-new.zip and then again with updatev2.zip.

For the most part things are working well. However here is a list of the issues I am experiencing.

1. Screen orientation sometimes gets stuck. This seems completely random and I have not figured out any sort of pattern with it yet.

2. Data/Wifi connections sometimes cuts out. Like the screen orientation issue this is completely random and reboot does not always fix it for me.

3. Many apps are missing from the market including some very common ones. (Google Voice ect...). I wonder if there is some sort of version checking that is causing this?

I think its a good idea if we all post the issues we are having along with how we updated the device so we can get a more comprehensive idea of the most common issues we are having.

I have put my phone into fastboot but cant get past the Wait for USB Fastboot detect. When I plug in my Streak to my pc (running XP) nothing happens on the Streak (still Wait for USB Fastboot detect) and my pc is searching for a driver for Android 1.0???

What am I doing wrong (probably everything) and what can I do to get 2.2 on my Streak???

just tried 200 and it fits pretty nicely.

would still prefer 240 if the dialer was skinnable though

its only landscape its really broken in so not too bad really.

This turned up earlier in the thread but I'm not sure if it applies to XP.

You need to update the driver.

Go to device mgr

right click Android 1.0

Update driver

select browse my comp.

let me pick

show all devices and scroll to Google.inc

Select Android BootLoader Interface

finally got round to updateing .everything went well thanks steve.

only bug i have is the screen rotation is a bit sensitive but theres probaly a setting somewhere for that..

Can anyone list the apps/widgets/features that we miss on Froyo because it does not have Dell modifications ?

The ones that I know:

- Dell Notification bar

- RSS widget

- Outlook tasks

- Outlook notes

- PC Sync

- Dell launcher

Note: I did not have the bootloader driver, only composite ADB driver I selected it and things went smoothly (I'm on Froyo!).

The changes to the stock media player? The player interface that came with the Dell versions looked a lot better - the froyo one looks more like a file browser...(functionally the same though, just not as pretty =])
