Guest RedSlug Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I do wish I'd read the installation instructions this time :( I didn't spot the need for fastboot. No nearby Win 95 laptop. It's gong to have to wait until I go to work tomorrow to fix Ah well :) :)
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Got adb running by just executing in clockwork recovery, but it says busybox_1P8P1 not found read my post for using adb in clockwork its different command
Guest Mirrdhyn Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 hmm that doesn help me too much can all do factory reset IN CLOCKWORK then immediatly after the dell reset and see what happens Now, I cannot download for SSL certificate issue. http://pastebin.com/qmYLgejw
Guest cellopoly Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 For the apps installing Issue I tried to change the permissions on system/app to 711 but now when I boot the dell animation starts freaking out (hard to explain, choppy playback describes it the best) and the phone never boots. got the idea from here http://code.google.com/p/openeclair/issues/detail?id=4 (bad idea for me)
Guest popetodd Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Got my issue, not sure which one did it but here's what I did: I rebooted my Linux box Moved the CWR from my USB mass storage where it lived to the systems main drive Ran as root ./fastboot-linux -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn All was well after that. Great job Steve! (as always... :) )
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 but can you download/install apps. wondering if anyone on new baseband cant install or just those who had boot problems
Guest Graysson Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Flashing the 2.1 baseband worked. Flashing both 1.2nobb or 1.1.1 didnt work. I still get endless reboots. Graysson i suspect your doing something very weird in your install:try: fastboot flash the 2.1 baseband reboot to recovery go into clockwork factory reset in clockwork goto partitions menu and format data system and cache, flash 1.1.1 reboot and hold volume keys, choose factory reset wait
Guest matty.cptk Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 755 sounds smarter :) changed to 755 but still the issue
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 think you probly need to look at /data/app - think i may have a theroy why it doesn work but wont be looking until tomorrow try chmod 777 on entire data and /mnt folders
Guest popetodd Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 but can you download/install apps. wondering if anyone on new baseband cant install or just those who had boot problems No problem, just updated 9 of my apps from the app store.
Guest lbj23numb1 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 i got some apps to install from the market like titanium but it keeps constantly force closing... any ideas?
Guest lundi Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 much as id love to do that itrequires the baseband to avoid flashing lights syndrome. ok, than put the baseband also in :) or comes the app install problems from the baseband or another thing from my "dislike-list" ?
Guest Ed Venture Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 but can you download/install apps. wondering if anyone on new baseband cant install or just those who had boot problems If it helps, I was able to upgrade to the new baseband and then to 1.2.0 without problems. All my old apps and configs were as they were on 1.1.1. I dropped the V.2 framework on (its just easier for me to read), and rebooted. All is well and I can install apps from the market without fail. I just dropped Angry Birds and Pure Messenger back on.

Guest lbj23numb1 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 logs would help how do i get them
Guest matty.cptk Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) i also get the same error when trying to install an app through "Android Commander". But when installing to the SDcard it succesfully installs Edited November 5, 2010 by matty.cptk
Guest popetodd Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 so your upgrade was trouble free, hmm i sense a trend here Mine as well, all apps still there, all settings still in place. Only had an issue with fastboot and I think that is because of where I had it stored (on a USB connected drive).
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 info for heading back to 1.1.1 is in one f my prev posts. and popetodd can you install apps (not update install new)
