ok, i still can't boot lcr-f when i enable apps2sd.. i'm doing something wrong but i don't know why.

here is what i did:

1. flashed bin F4.503.00_EMEA-GEN1

2. flashed malez recovery 0.6

3. backed up my sd card (from recovery)

4. partitioned sd card (via recovery) with no swap, 512mb ext2 and fat32 remainder

5. restored my sd card contents (via recovery)

6. copied LCR-F_1.0-signed.zip to sd card (in recovery)

7. flashed LCR-F_1.0-signed.zip via recovery

8. in recovery -> other -> enabled apps2sd for apps+cache (i also tried apps only)

9. finally rebooted into android but lcr-f does't show up

You must not restore you previous data. I think you had data on you sdcard.

I you only restore app i should work (delete /system/sd/data and /system/sd/dalvik-cache

i just double checked it :) recovery says its "Build: malez-liquid-0.6"

i can do a nandroid backup from recovery without any problems,

i just wanted to mention that it does not work from the LCR-Settings (for me).

but as i said: concerning that i can nandroid from recovery thats not a big deal for me :),

i just want to help you building the perfect ROM by giving any feedback i can :)

I have a recovery 0.6.1 in stock that fix some little bugs. I know that nandroid restore from lcr settings does not always work but i never had issues on backing up. I should be fixed too. I will release it soom (same for patch 1.1 for LCR)

I think that you can't restore de ext2 partition contents.

You need to reinstall all the applications with titanium backup or one by one from the market after you have installed froyo LCR 1.0 and app2sd from malez recovery.

actually i only restored the content of the fat32 partition (the problem persist), before the upgrade to lcr-f i didn't have an ext partition so nothing to restore

In recovery, before flashing the rom, go in wipe menu and try wipe sdcard:ext

Which acer bin did you all flash before LCR-F ?

Because I didn't flash the last one, I'm on 4.002.02, and no battery problem at all...

BTW, thanks a lot for this excellent rom, you gave my Liquid a second life.

Just for test purpose i will flash back to previous basband to test

already tried i today.. anyway now i have everything installed using stock foryo apps2sd (even if it sucks because it doesn't free enough space).

if someone can hint me how to activate apps+data apps2sd i would be very happy :)

anyway thanks to all :)

First of all, thanks for this work.

I got a liquid S100. Before flashing with LCT, I was under last tweak (405). This one was very bad for battery life. So it's the same on LCR. I put screen backlight on manual settiing (40%), get rid of GVoice, and today with only 7min of phone conversation (I'm a sociopath), 1h30 of intensive usage (mail, web, game...) rest of time sleeping on my desk (with juice defender)... battery was at 13% after 12 hours of life.

On my first day under foryo, battery didn't survive more to lunch time... I red that previous leaks were no good for battery. What have changed in froyo that makes battery life so short.

So battery issue doesn't seems a LCR issue but a Froyo issue to me.

(bad) things I noticed under LCR :

* I can't go under "tweak"menu in LCRT settings : "refreshing data" appears in notification area followed by 2 dots. Few secs after I get the message to force closed because LCR seting didn't answer. Even after closing LCR setting, the LCR icon remains in the notification area, when I unfold, there's the message : "refreshing data..."

* when I have to remove an application (for exemple GVoice) from LCR menu (stock apps), I've got the little window with spinning and spinning icon. Endless (more than 5 minutes).I have to kill LCR menu (maybe bad idea) and after relaunching it apps is removed in the menu. Same thing with integrated addons (I removed ADWlauncher).

Before flashing I clear all data and also all caches.

What can I do?

PS : sorry for terms I used, I'm really really new at Android...

Malez, is it for sure that acer will release the source when it comes out? Just the matter of time right? Does swap help with the phone's performance? Or only with faster sd cards?

...oh and no problem with the "tweaks" settings either.

Weird, with this ROM I can't get a lock with GPS

I also can't get a lock with gps.

Tried with different "gps.conf" files.

I flashed LCR 1.0 Froyo on top of 4.504b00

only the Superuser app appears alongside all the Acer defaults, any app I install from Market doesn't appear in the app list, I don't have the LCR settings anywhere, although the wallpaper and everything are those from LCR 1.0 Froyo.

Oops. I finally find LCR setting new version on former pages. Author to input this command? I tried terminal emulator but get a 'denied' error.

...any app I install from Market doesn't appear in the app list...

There was a bug with market yesterday (confimed on a Samsung galaxy one too). When you installed an application, market ran a check-out request to know if you have bought the application (yes, even with free app, that was the bug). As you had not bought the application, market deleted it.

If you have problem with other apps, reinstall the rom. All provided apps works well.

The problem for those who don't manage to access tweak settings seens to be low memory. Maybe you could try to reboot, kill application and run the app (that is not a solution but a workaroundt to confirm the reason)

Don't forget that is you have a liquid s100 A1 (that is my case but i have not problem at all) you only have 256 Mo.

Please, everyone, could you just modify you signature to add your liquid model to distinguish beetween liquid first generation and liquidE, or just fill in the "phone model" field precisely in your profile

Yes I know I am boring, but i always try to have more information for analysis

For me battery is ok...

Have you done phone calls? Have you used any 3g connection?

As I see from the screenshots you are on edge (gsm not 3g) coverage....

On idle without any data connection enabled and on good 3g coverage (this night..) power usage was good. In 7 hours only 3% of battery was used (from 53% to 50%).

My phone now is 43%, 17h 40m uptime:

46% android system

21% standby

19% idle phone

10% bluetooth

3% display

2% mediaserver (what is mediaserver?)

From yesterday I've done 2-3 phone calls, some sms, 1 hour in total of mobile internet navigation on 3g (I also tried to use the flash 10.1 plugin to see how it works (awful :) ), 2 hours of music listening on bluetooth ad2p.

I still haven't used any wifi connection and I never enabled light sensor.

Not too bad for now.

I see that in lcr-f rom there is the powertop binary, but it doesn't start as there are some library missing (libncurses I think).

Anyone knows where I can build or take the libraries? Is there the ldd command on android?

Thank you for reporting this.

I have fixed it and it will be in LCR-F 1.1 patch and will provide a powertop.sh script

here is how you can make it work

adb remount

adb push terminfo.tar /system/

adb shell

cd /system/

tar xf terminfo.tar

rm terminfo.tar

export TERMINFO=/system/etc/terminfo

export TERM=linux

powertop

terminfo.tar

Just done a bit more than 1 hour of internet / game this morning.

For me, the battery problem arise from the proximity sensor, when I disable it the battery is ok, with android system at 5-10%. When I enable it, Android system increases to 70-90% depending on how many hours the phone as been unplugged. I didn't test with different baseband, for now I'm on 05.01.05, with a A1 256mb.

Disabling proximity sensor ? You don't have issue when on the phone with ear on the screen ?

Strange that power drain comes from this... This sensor should only be used when a call is done or received. If not it look as a bug.

I forgot to tell that it only occurs when I use the proximity sensor, aka, I'm calling/receiving a call, sorry for the incomplete information. So if I use the phone without any phone calls battery is good, but since I need to make them :) I've decided to disable it to decrease my battery usage (I press "On/off" button to disable the screen during calls).
