Guest magritte Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 I haven't really used the google speech features but for testing purposes I decided to give it a try to reply to this post. I'm not editing any of the messages so whatever comes through is exactly the way google recognizes it. when I speak it to give me a couple of options as to what it thinks I said and you're able to go through and figure the best choice. so far I've had the microphone approximately 8 inches from my mouth. now I'll try to move it a little further away and see what happens. I'm now arm's length from my health. that was supposed to read I'm holding arms length from my mouth.it seems to me that the most important thing when using this feature is to speak very slowly and very clearly and make sure you annunciate each word. I really cannot see using this feature on a daily basis. but it is a very interesting feature. Perhaps in the future once it has been refined a little bit oh we will see people using it on a regular basis. That's actually pretty good... I tried to respond in kind but keep getting server errors. It would be nice if there were at least rudimentary offline voice capabilities (for dialing at least).
Guest MisfitGeek Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Thanks to uour help, I find how to put clock and other widgets on lock screen. Alas I got 4 "half" boot (boot start at android eyes) as some mentionned on previous pages. First when adding / removing some widgets for lock screen. A second on trying to unlock screen. For 2 other ones I found my Liquid on pin code input. Strange. Tomorow I'll revert to standard lock screen just to see if reboot came from this. Other thing I noticed, on active sevices, I can find 4 services related to "widgets". 3 are "UpdateService" and 1 "MapService".... About camara button... I had to take a photo today, and even when using camera app the button launch music !!! Funny but not really convenient.
Guest thepasto Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) Great rom!! It works perfectly with lastest leak.. thanks for your works!! Edited November 6, 2010 by thepasto
Guest ahwayne2002 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Download MoreLoc2 for setting language to Chinese. Also http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...e-input-method/ for Chinese input. Still the same..the keyboard character also saw square box fonts.
Guest Ultimate Chicken Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) Hi, just a few questions here. 1. I once was able to reduce the number of scrollable homescreens for both launchers from 5 to 3. I can't seem to find that option now. Is it still there? (this saves RAM by the way, so I do hope it is.) 2. No offence to the guy who coded Music Mod, but I can't seem to rm it with adb shell permanently. I can remove that app once but it comes right back when I reboot. (Sorry, I don't believe in having redundant apps. Meridian user who perfers its 4X2 layout with no album pic here, as opposed to Music's 2X4 with album pic.) I have a small wifi problem. I am not sure if it is related to the LCR_F, but maybe someone has an idea. So when i switch on the wifi practically nothing happens. I have a wifi at home or at my workplace and my phone should connect automaticly, after turning on the wifi but it cant. The strange thing is, when i enter the wifi settings it says obtainin IP adress, but under that line it says so wifi connection available. So i have to push the scan button several times to make the device find the network. After that it can connect automaticly. So it is alittle bit strange, and seems to be a software bug, but iamnot sure. It's not a big thing, but maybe u have idea how to fix it. Ok, I just saw this and remembered I had a similar issue with 1.7. Apparently it had something to do with my router broadcasting on an unsupported channel. IIRC I had mine broadcasting at channel - I think it was - 11. Swapped it for the more commonly used 12, rebooted router, and hey presto. Testing again, it seems that half the channels on my router can be seen by the Liquid, but it doesn't seem to have any idea on what to do with them. I don't know if this is a flaw on the Android OS or a flaw in the Liquid's band. My older netbook eats this cellphone's wifi resolution technology for breakfast. :) Edited November 6, 2010 by Ultimate Chicken
Guest vanisleguy1976 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Has any LCR user installed the latest bin? (Acer_LiquidE_4.002.08_EMEA-GEN1_05.01.0) that was just leaked by liquid_user? If so, any comments?
Guest malez Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Hi, just a few questions here. 1. I once was able to reduce the number of scrollable homescreens for both launchers from 5 to 3. I can't seem to find that option now. Is it still there? (this saves RAM by the way, so I do hope it is.) In latest ADW version : press option button and choose edit. You will be able to add/remove desktops For launcher pro, it is in homescreen settings. 2. No offence to the guy who coded Music Mod, but I can't seem to rm it with adb shell permanently. I can remove that app once but it comes right back when I reboot. (Sorry, I don't believe in having redundant apps. Meridian user who perfers its 4X2 layout with no album pic here, as opposed to Music's 2X4 with album pic.) the music application is linked with the lock screen. When you use acer lock screen, music can be controled within the lock screen. When you use standard lock screen, it is music mod. There is a way to remove music mod permanently but you may have issue.
Guest malez Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Still the same..the keyboard character also saw square box fonts. Have you tried to install Google Pinyin IME from market ? It should be the keyboad that your are looking for. Don't forget to enabe it in Settings / Languages and keyboard. Then long press in a text area to select and use it.
Guest malez Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Great rom!! It works perfectly with lastest leak.. thanks for your works!! :)
Guest ctos Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Great ROM with super speed. But I have to leave because of fast battery drain. Anybody has the same issue with this ROM? With my usage about two week, full charged battery only last 10 ~ 12 hours, only half as my previous experience with other 2.2 ROMs. My phone run with 3G enable but less operation on it during my usage, I tried to disable 3G but not work. Any comments?
Guest tc4101 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 kept on getting half boots... getting sick of see the droid eye.. think maybe due to customized UI... i used the acer lock page. which i now got rid of. the acer lock page is kinda useless, its only usable for acer widgets or only for disply purposes not interactive..... and they have 5 pages? slowed down the lock screen page alot. i see how it goes.

Guest malez Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 My Setting / Language ..does not have Chinese language select.. What you have just installed is a new keyboard to write chinese. It will appear as a keyboad.

Yet you don"t need to reboot. you can flash them in the same recovery session (it is even better) apps + will be a little slower but you will gain more space.

Yes, if using apps2sd+dalvik will make slow.. I try it.. Sometimes reboot & stuck in booting.. :)
