Guest Winston Ma Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Tahnk you for score detail. Basing a conclusion on a global average value had no sense. Your details are just the proof that the only thing that is slower is aac decoding. I can't tell anything about battery consumption when playing aac song as i have not compared but that will be the only element that should eventually affect battery usage (if it is) By the way let me post the latest run of the Quadrant score based on Rom 4.002.08_EMEA-GEN1 + LCR 1.1.1 CPU: 1517 Memory: 990 I/O: 489 2D: 218 3D: 355 Overall: 714 By the way the I/O score of ROM 4.002.08_EMEA-GEN1 is improved since I got ~380 in ROM 4.504b.00_EMEA-GEN1.
Guest zbrin Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 To everyone that has the eduroam wifi issue just follow this: about the eduroam issue: delete the network and then try to add it manually (by entering "eduroam" in name and your username/password combination). after that it worked for me ... Although it was posted on the latest leaked topic, i though it would be a good idea to quote it here as some of you have this issue, many thanks elgubbo!
Guest Koki1337 Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 well... no... but it is my only choice for "scientific" comparison test... due to my lack of software or engineering knowledge... i just wanted to know if what you guys saying here is true (1.1.1 is slower blahblahblah) and that's what i got... im sorry if my post offends anyone... Well yeah, I'm sorry I ever said those things. The method I test is getting an average on Linpack, with my own feel on certain live wallpapers (other apps killed) It's quite obvious that live wallpapers run slower on LCR-F compared to MIUI and other ROMs. There are also stutters across the app drawer with LauncherPro.
Guest malez Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Telling that 1.1.1 is slower than 1.1 is wrong and i have already explained why (only aac decoding is a bit slower but with good quality). But noone speak about fixed bugs. Having a low voice when using navigator was not bugging you ? It was for many people and it was fixed. So stop asking and try by yourself and you will see that there is no difference in speed in all day life, only fixed bugs. Teeling other elements have changed is just totally wrong. Do you want a new option in LCR Settings called "I don't mind about quality, i just want a good quadrant score ??" Edited November 8, 2010 by malez

Do you want a new option in LCR Settings called "I don't mind about quality, i just want a good quadrant score ??" I second Malez! Please stop bugging him about silly Quadrant Scores... can you even tell the difference in everyday use? I believe NOT because you will never manage to measure it! Else prove it. Focus on stability and usability, performance will come with improvement and ROM evolution. Whats all this talk about a relative benchmark? A benchmark will never reflect the truth about any system, they depend on implementation and system configuration. Developers have to make decisions between features and speed sometimes... it will always be like that! Resources on mobile phones are always limited. No intention to be rude, but every time LCR-Team releases it is the same useless talk about this matter. So forget it and if you want to help, report bugs! Not your neighborhood races with mobile phones. And remember, it's a "COMMUNITY ROM", Malez is NOT your personal developer! PS: Didn't meant to hurt anyones feelings, just my opinion. I respect yours, just can't understand why the developer has to be bugged with this matter.
Guest thedicemaster Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 found a little problem with text-to-speech. all files for text to speech seem present, but any text-to-speech related app i try to use/install tells me i need to install a TTS library and sends me to a "nothing found" page of the android market. there's even an app that gets me stuck there, because it keeps reopening the market until i install that specific library.
Guest magritte Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I'm finding the touch sensitivity tweak isn't loading at boot and I need to manually apply it now (even though I applied permanently). Is this a known issue?
Guest Chewy11 Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 used navigator with 1.1.1 today in my car and it was loud enough to hear while driving!!!!Great improvement!
Guest vikings123 Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Maybe I am the only exception. Whenever I open Tethering, my notebook freezes. I am running Win-7 Ultra on X201s.

Guest Rajit Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Im on patch 1.1 (not 1.1.1) since the day it was released and for the past few days, ive been noticing something stragne: My proximity sensor does not work! Also, any possibility of making the long-home-press show the list of recent apps in acer ui? (i use acer ui with adw) @malez, your efforts are highly appreciated by the community. people can get a little impatient and impractical at times, but they all love you!

Malez and the rest of the team work hard. They ask for very little on return, only a donation if you can manage. Guest Koki1337 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 One thing I realize is the unlocked market doesn't stay. It just goes back to the locked market when I rebooted

If you are talking about google translation for exemple, it is a common bug seen on other devices too (tested on galaxy S too). The reason is that google does not use pico but espeak. In older version of google translation (not today as i have tested right now), the package was not found because google did not put the right pname package and was not able to find it on market. So to install it we had to Open market, Apps, Software libray, top free, espeak and it worked. You will find other TTS library in the same category of market
Guest malez Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I'm finding the touch sensitivity tweak isn't loading at boot and I need to manually apply it now (even though I applied permanently). Is this a known issue? Touch settings are loaded about 30s after boot but they are. So you don't see them jsut after booting but the will be applied a little later (set them to 200 and apply on boot if you don't belive me, you will see the difference )
Guest Morris Lee Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 What is the network mode really do malez? my WiFi seems to get disconnected even when I set to never sleep. Morris Lee

I am not sure but i think mine was not working too in low sensitivity (maybe calibration) I went in Settings / Calling settings / advanced and set to high and everything is ok EDIT : i have checked in low sensivity and it woked too.
