Guest Winston Ma Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 kernel source is never released with an official rom because people wouldn't know what to do with it, and wouldn't have a use for it in most cases anyway. it's always released through a separate method, and generally a short(or sometimes long) period after release of the rom itself. Malez... I just wonder if we can create our own version of 2.2 kernel by the following step 1. Got the old source code (so far only 2.1 source is available) 2. Create a patch by the diff-ing with the original source (just grab the original driver... and such and such) 3. Apply the patch against the 2.2 kernel 4. Add the OC patch Thanks

OOPS! my bad, I thought I was under the "Document" section under under Froyo 2.2, but it appears that there is only one version. How would we obtain the kernel source for the 2.2? it appears that there is one for the Liquid E (2.1 I assume) directly on acer's page, so I assume the froyo version might be posted eventually??? Guest runner780 Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 I hope it is not a hardware usb connector problem but it could be. Are you able to access fastboot when battery is removed and usb is plugged ? Dont think it's a hardware problem cause same thing just happined on my friends liquid and that one is only few days old.. a third liquid with older lcr 1.8 can connect to the pc's. If i try fastboot same thing happens with and without the battery in think i need to reflash an acer leak or released 2.1 bin. Vovidaisu managed to do it from a sd card with this method: I have modified it for Liquid A1 but there is some bugs caused by ROM/RAM size. Will keep u updated. QUOTE Please help i tried everything else...!!!! need to flash bin again but i cannot connect to pc. I'd like to try this method but i have a liquid A1. Can you make the same for a1 with the file from mcboydesign? Hey guys...you try download Froyo ROM of Liquid E from below links 1) Download ROM of Liquid E (Froyo) : http://www.fileserve.com/file/5xutRP8 2) How to flash ROM with SD card * Unzip the downloaded file and you will get 02 items: update.zip and folder image * Copy both of them to SD card * Power off your Liquid E * Press and hold <Volume down> + <Camera> and press <Power> until it vibrates 3 times. Then release all. It is used only for Liquid E not Liquid A1.

Guest magritte Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Touch settings are loaded about 30s after boot but they are. So you don't see them jsut after booting but the will be applied a little later (set them to 200 and apply on boot if you don't belive me, you will see the difference B)) I'm still seeing mixed results with this. Sometimes (probably most times) it does in fact load automatically shortly after a boot but sometimes it fails to do so and it won't automatically load no matter how long I wait so I have to manually go into LCR Settings to apply the fix. I'm using 30/70 so I have to enter in the values manually each time which is also a pain. I haven't been able to figure out under what circumstances specifically it fails to auto apply the settings but I have a vague suspicion it may occur when rebooting as opposed to powering off. But that's just a guess at this point. I'll play with it to see if I can figure it out.
Guest magritte Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 I'll play with it to see if I can figure it out. No, I just did a bunch of reboots both using the Quick Boot util or by powering off and back on. The touch sensitivity settings were not automatically restored on any of them. Looks like I always need to do it manually now...

Guest Delnar_Ersike Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 but what if I want some sound, while the animation goes, what should I have to do? I believe you'd have to create a boot_animation.xml and configure it to use a specific audio track. As for LCR 1.1.2, I'm very impressed with its performance. I haven't tested Quadrant (as Quadrant score are usually based on I/O, which is in fact probably the least important part of a device's performance in real-world situations), but I've gotten much higher FPS scores on Fps2d (~56 vs. ~51), NenaMark1 (~17.5 vs. ~13.1), and Neocore (~28.6 vs. ~25) with LCR than with stock.

I agree, the performance is great with this rom. But lately, the performance on my phone has REALLY degraded. It takes forever to load everything after booting and when i connect it to my notebook and switch on mass storage, it takes really long to actually get the mass storage working? Any ideas? A cache wipe maybe? Another bug: Whenever I turn on wifi, it does turn on but does not auto connect to the remembered network (there's only one). But as soon as I enter the wifi settings menu, it automatically connects to the network. Strange and consistent. Very buggy!!! Apart from all this, totally love the rom! Guest PhilNelwyn Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 hi, is there anyway to tweat the external speak so that it goes louder? For what kind of use ? There are 'tweaks' for calls and navigator (gps).
Guest MisfitGeek Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 For what kind of use ? There are 'tweaks' for calls and navigator (gps). Can't tell for calls, but for GPS use (I'm on Navigon) it's loud. Navigon love to speak and I have to lower a bit volume. I didn't really try Google navigation with LCR, as voice is too ugly B) . If there's any tweak for a better voice...

For G navigator loudness, Malez and Vache said you have to disable new audio codecs. Edited November 22, 2010 by PhilNelwyn
