Guest matthewye Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 after trying all those Metal, CM, Miui roms, finally, I must say they can't compete against this LCR rom. I flashed this back last night and I think I will stick with this for a longer term.
Guest fear_factory84 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I would like to know if there is some work to integrate last roggin kernel (the one with wifi and usb tethering working, used on miui 0.12.24 rom) with lcr-f. With that kernel we could get undervolt and/or overclocking.. I still don't have understand if the kernel sources are made available by roggin elsewhere. Anyone knows? Thanks and happy new year!

Maybe when roggin release sources.. ATM it's not possible because of different memeory split. Only one question, how do you undervolt your cpu with roggin's kernel?

Only one question, how do you undervolt your cpu with roggin's kernel? Since roggin kernel is based on phh kernel and subsquent patches by other devs, undervolting and overclocking should be achieved in the same way that was done with eclair, I think. Perhaps the problem is that there is no common code repository.. so all the efforts done by various devs, is fragmented.. and that's bad. I should open a dedicated thread about this..
Guest sede Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I am using the community rom, and if I once activate the wireless tethering, the battery consumption goes very high with the tethering deactivated, even if the phone is rebooted, or the cache cleared. After installed the new bin and flashed the community rom I used the phone for a week with very low consumption, 5-10 percent drain overnight. Then I used the tethering for half day, and since then the battery drain increased to more than 50% overnight (with of course tethering deactivated and phone rebooted). Looks like it happend to me all the time, but after installing new bins or roms the battery usage normalized again. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
Guest fear_factory84 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I use wifi (and usb) tethering every day enabling it and disabling it and I never got the problem you describe. Could you post battery usage statistics taken when your phone drains battery?
Guest bellanano Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 hy Malez, when do you think to release LCR-F 2.0 ?? ( i suppose you've decided to 2.0 brand  )
Guest sede Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 I use wifi (and usb) tethering every day enabling it and disabling it and I never got the problem you describe. Could you post battery usage statistics taken when your phone drains battery? Battery stats: Cell standby: 32% Wi-Fi: 32% Phone idle: 32% Android System: 3% I used WPA2 encryption with wifi tethering. Yesterday I switched the wireless security to Open from WPA2 PSK, and switched back off the tethering. With these settings the battery drain was 33% under 9 hours. It is better than previous 50-60%, but still far from the 5-10% by night. I think with the tethering something is activated in the system software which never goes off, or maybe the battery meter re-calibrated itself, and previously shown bad values. I don't know, but it is very annoying. Thank you for your reply
Guest fpbasilio Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 hoping 720p video recording will be on lcr-f 2.0 and dolby  happy with current lcr-f thanks!

Have you tried to completely reflash firt bin (4.002.14 or 4.504b), wipe all, flash lcr-f 1.1 and the flash 1.1.2 patch? You could also try to use stock acer bin (wothout lcr-f). Tethering works?

Thank you for the suggestions, especially for the logcat suggestion! With checking the logs I found the problem. Seems like I switched on latitude in the google maps when I was away and used the tethering. Probably I made the same in the past when I was away, and always that caused the huge battery drain. There was also a battery widget constantly echoed to the log. So tonight battery consumption went back to 3% under 9 hours! When unlocked the phone, it just jumped to 4%, I am very happy

Guest Austerus Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Hello, I have tried to flash my S100 with the latest Acer_LiquidE_4.504b.00_EMEA-GEN1_05.01.05 (the modified one). However, after the Acer update tool reboots the phone for the first time, the phone hangs on the boot screen with the flashing white line. Anyone has an idea why this is? If I remove the USB cable and reboot, it reboots with the old ROM (Acer_LiquidE_4.002.02_EMEA-GEN1_05.01.04, modified for S100) + LCR 1.0. Updating to 1.1.2 works ok. Also, is there a way to simply flash the phone with a base 2.2 ROM (without the LCR?) or 2.1? Thanks! Edited January 5, 2011 by Austerus

The screen with a withe line flashing is fastboot, probably you have not flashed anything. Don't remove the usb cable in that way, you risk a partial flash, that could lead eventually to a brick! Please note if drivers are correctly loaded after the phone is on fastboot mode. How to flash bin on the A1 is written many times on this forum. If you have something not clear ask me..

Thanks, I kindof figured it didn't flash anything but I had no idea this could lead to a brick. What I don't understand is how come the Acer Liquid Update Tool sees and starts the flashing process if there would be a driver issue? I flashed my phone a few times before by doing this (aka load the bin into the Update Tool). However, as the malez Recovery installer seems to not see my phone while plugged in, I will try to update the drivers. Edit: the loading hangs on "usb_init" - as mentioned before, I have no idea why this is. Drivers are installed on my computer, the Update Tool sees the phone. I am guessing there might be a problem with some drivers on the phone itself? Edited January 6, 2011 by Austerus

Guest Delnar_Ersike Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 newbie help: may i ask what does "wipe cache" and "wipe dalvik cache" in lcr settings do? would this help me freeup space on my fone? any other way or app that can clear some memory? im getting low mem warnings already aftr installing lots of apps. thanks Wiping dalvik cache probably won't free up any space on your phone, while I highly recommend not wiping cache (it won't delete the caches of, say, your browser or other apps; instead, it wipes the cache partition on your device, which contains some crucial information AFAIK regarding the devices radio and cell reception). For freeing up space on your phone, here are my tips:Remove any apps you don't use. I'm serious. There are a lot of cases when you install an app you like at first glance, you try it out and say to yourself, "This is awesome, I'm sure I'm going to use it in the future!" then you don't ever use it again and forget that it's even installed on your device. Prime suspects are live wallpapers, games that look awesome but play like crap, Google Earth, camera apps, themes, and widgets. If you aren't using LCR 1.1.2 and a couple of your system apps have updated versions installed, remove the updates, then remove the system app via a tool like Titanium Backup, then reinstall the app from the market. Whenever a system app is updated, the original app is kept on the disk instead of being overwritten, so an app like Adobe Flash Player can take up a huge amount of space, seeing as the device has it installed in two different places. If you are using LCR 1.1.2 or any other ROM that has a separate partition for system apps, I highly recommend you buy Titanium Backup Donate and use the "Integrate system update into ROM" feature. If you have Titanium Backup, you can move apps to your SD card even if the app normally doesn't allow it. Moving apps to the SD card is usually highly recommended for any app that doesn't do a lot of I/O after initialization (gaming performance is usually unaffected, as games usually load all the resources they need into the RAM when they start up) or any app that doesn't need to start up automatically (basically, mostly everything besides widgets, home launchers, and a couple "tweaking" apps like SetCPU).If you want to be able to clean the caches of your apps easily, download an app called "CacheCleaner NG". Guest Temur Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 How can i change the system FONT with LCR-Settings?
Guest Delnar_Ersike Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I just create an update.zip, rename my fonts to DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf, and place them into /system/fonts. You could also use adb to push the fonts over to the device, then reboot the see the new font.
