You might not get anywhere with other existing methods, no matter how many times you try.

Guest PLaY4PLaY Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) Some questions: 1. The reason we're doing this: http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/dellstreak22 is because australian streak has a locked baseband that does not allow us to do the normal methods right? 2. So after flashing/upgrading the baseband with QDLtool I dont really have to follow the instructions all the way to flashing Stephen Hydes 2.2 Froyo Release? .. after upgrading the baseband, can I just follow the normal guides then? like maybe This: http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...ing-the-streak/ Or This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment...mp;d=1283901727 or maybe after upgrading the baseband, just proceed to using ROM Manager? Guest mooves Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Hey i had the exact same problem. I followed the instructions of flashing the baseband using the Qualcomm tools and was able to flash an O2 2.1 rom . The phone should be fine at this point which you install Universal AndRoot, root it. I then installed a clockworkmod (2.5.0.1) recovery then install Steve's 2.2 Froyo ROM. If you just run the QDLTool and then install froyo, your baseband will be blank in settings. The fix for this was to install an O2 2.1 ROM and then reapply the 2.2 Froyo ROM. It's a pain that we don't have a copy of the factory Optus baseband and ROM to restore to (though it should be generic). hey guys, I'm on optus Streak as well, and after trying to root this machine, using the super root method in this forum, my streak bricked... every time when I try to flash the rom, no matter it is 6941, 4399 or 8105, none of them worked... Can you please tell me which rom i should use to at least allow me to turn on the machine and start making phone calls...... Very much appreciated!!
Guest Noeneel Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 So does anyone have the Optus 1.6 ROM? I need to take mine back for a warranty claim.
