hi, I kwow that free ram is useless, but using most of the ram doesn't mean that the phone runs a lot of processes/services? and all this activities can drain battery more, aren't they? so technically does using less ram mean increasing battery life?

Free RAM in and of itself is wasted RAM. However, having more free RAM when launching a memory-intensive app (like a browser, a game, or a video player) is better and reduces the chance an important background app, like a home launcher, will get autokilled because the device is running out of RAM. So in practice, killing apps isn't as useless as some might say it is.

AFAIK, battery life concerning apps is mainly dependent on CPU usage, read/writes, and network/GPS usage. Yes, in some cases, high memory usage means high CPU usage (ie. a game), but in others, having less free RAM has nothing to do with battery life (for example, the home launcher and on-screen keyboard both take up RAM, but killing your keyboard process won't, AFAIK, improve battery life).

RAM is refreshed no matter if there is data stored in it or not, so it uses a small constant amount of power. CPUs use low power when idle, and more when it's active.
