Guest ought Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I am used to my windows mobile phone with a resistive screen and I can easily type on it, getting the right letter on a full QUERTY keyboard significantly smaller than the one on the Blade when in portrait mode. But even in landscapre mode I am struggling to get the right key. I know I can not use my nail any more but should it really be this difficult? Could my screen be faulty and somehow misinterpreting where my finger is? Is there a stylus I can get? It is really driving me mad, sending a text takes ages and frustrates me to the extreme.. ARGH!! Any help please? Otherwise I love the phone and android, but if typing is going to be such an effort then I am not sure it will last...

Any stylus designed for capacitive screens should work. alternatively try installing the HTC IME keyboard or slideit keyboard from the marketplace. I have both but prefer the HTC keyboard now as its fast
Guest ought Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Thanks for the replies. I will give those keyboards a go. Can you suggest a particular stylus that works because looking at reviews of some, they don't all do the job. Cheers ;o)
Guest daniel_owen_uk Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Is the HTC keyboard really available from the marketplace? As for hitting the correct key, I think half of it is getting used to not always hitting the perfect key, and using the auto correct feature, for me at least that's how I like typing and I am fairly quick with two thumbs (fast than I could possibly be with a stylus).
Guest spoonium Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 The stylus has to be specifically designed for capacitve screens, so you should include that in your search.

Guest spoonium Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) You might want to try this: http://pocketnow.com/tweaks-hacks/how-to-m...pacitive-stylus :) And you can also make a glove work with capacitive touchscreens: http://www.instructables.com/id/Making-A-G...A-Touch-Screen/ // Edit IIRC HTC offers a capacitive stylus. Guest Eclogue Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I've just come across from a 3.8" resistive HTC HD, so I know your pain - I was fine with my nail on its resistive screen, and was totally lost on the blade :-( I've gone with ultra keyboard - it's got a trial version, and also has that swype style feature where you just run your finger over the letters in order, without lifting your finger up, and it interprets the word (even if you don't quite hit all the right letters!). With a bit of training on words it didn't know (eg. place names), I'm back up to my old speed now.
