i ordered about 9:15 from pcworld and my available funds have also dropped by £250, fingers crossed!!

That means nothing, other than they've checked your card details and asked if they *could* take the money if they wanted to. It's what's called a shadow and will last from 3-7 days at which point it would disappear. Even if they canceled your order it'd be there for a few days.

We've received your recent order and it is currently being processed.

I also got a call about 4pm to confirm my order and answer some security questions.

I asked the guy if it would be despatched today, he said it wasn't likely but to keep an eye out for an email ............. no email :)

im in the same boat as you all. ordered mine this morning.i phoned up to do it so hopefully they wouldnt have done the order if there wasnt any stock.i wonder how many they sold,some sales figures would be nice,ima be p'd if they delay my order due to lack of stock,why take the order if they cant fill it. im hitting refresh on this page every 5 mins to see if anyones had the elusive second email.

Not likely to appear now. Kevrae - you have any idea of what's going on with in store stock? Was there a store allocation or not? You did mention that we would see them before the end of the week. Does the DSG week run from Monday to Sunday?

Although I have only just registered I have been following this thread religiously since mid October which this morning paid off when I managed to order 2 Vega's. Like everyone else I got my confirmation email this morning with mine being at 9.08am and nothing else since. I have had the thread open all day expecting someone at least to get some sort of definitive answer by either email or telephone but no nothing.

In essence we are still in the same situation as the past week knowing nothing except a few of us are a few hundred quid lighter and keeping our fingers crossed that someone gets the magic email and the nice Mrs. post lady knocks on the door Monday morning clutching the Vega's (my mum always told me to keep positive and we all know that mums know best)

I’ve known that since about 8pm this evening that nothing new will happen tonight and I should leave it and do something else but I cannot seem to stop checking this forum and me email just on the off chance every 10 mins.

Well I think enough is enough for tonight for me so let’s see what tomorrow brings.

my local stores have deliveries on monday's and thursday's but are not expecting any vega tabs for at least 2 weeks :-( I sincerely hope they are wrong )

Sods law innit ..... the only day I have to leave the house next week is Tuesday B) ggrrrrr

Does anyone know of a good place to get a case/keyboard for this device ?

i think any usb keyboard should work,also any 10 inch netbook case or bag....ive been eying them up.waiting to buy one though incase it dont come,dont wanna look like a wierdo with a laptop bag with no computer inside.amazon have some nice ones and so do pc world.but i want something nice to put this baby in when/if it arrives. how about we all post the nicest case or accesories we can find ( if thats allowed)

it may keep our minds busy till wee find out more...or perhaps some android peeing on an apple stickers to slap on the back of it maybe!

For all those that are struggling to get hold of an Advent Vega, try ringing Currys in Harlow (Essex), phone number: 0870-609 7446.

I didn't speak with them directly, my sister was the one ordering it, she was told on Thursday at another branch that Harlow had stock in, she rang Friday morning and ordered one at £249.99 over the phone, to be shipped out the same day.

The manager, whom she spoke with, said the reason they were the only branch he knew of that had stock, is because his store specialises in Advent (I know it's their own brand, but he said some stores receive training on select brands, and his was Advent, others Samsung etc.), and that they needed to familiarise themselves with the product and train their staff, so were afforded early access. He also said they are selling like hot cakes, even with limited knowledge of the stock and wouldn't be around long.

Maybe they're all gone now, but it's definitely worth a shot. Also if what the manager says about training is true they should have a better understanding of the system having had it to play with for 48 hours.

Anyway, just thought I'd share, hope it helps.

Hi everyone,

I just registered to get involved with this thread but, visit regular ... guess I'm motivated ATM.

Anyhow, I ordered at 9:29am from PCW online and received my "acknowledgement" two minutes later. It was only 3 hours later that I read the note at the bottom concerning confirmation which I have not received. I posted a few times on Twitter to see if anyone had had one but, no one came forward.

I rang their Customer Service team at 6:30pm as I was a little concerned - they advise that my card was processed at 10:30 and that everything was in order. Apparently they were waiting on their logistics partner (they contract out fulfilment) to provide them with confirmation and DHL shipping reference. Agent did mention that it seemed odd that there was a significan minus stock level ... she wouldn't say how many.

That's what set thinking ... prior to receipt DSG's stock level for the Vega would have been zero as they'd not taken pre-orders. DSG use a live stock management system and the website is linked to this. IF they received stock yesterday morning then this quantity would be booked on and their websites would sell the allocated stock (calculating a sale once an item was checked out - failed credit cards would be returned to the stock figure) ... if the stock was all sold the website would cease to offer them ... no problem. So why the concern on the minus - well if they used a live system and HAD stock then there wouldn't be a minus - there couldn't be - there could only be a small plus (dependent on volumes of failed cards) and these would automatically sell later thru website.

Now a minus figure would be fine if they kept it on sale and advised people there were now back orders but, they didn't do that - they stopped the sales which indicates stock was exhausted ... SO how come the minus ...Simple - NO stock - none whatsoever.

Unprecedented levels, similar to "Take That" tickets .... where is the actual sales volume they sold yesterday ... they haven't told us ... sure, why would they ... well because it would be newsworthy ...

So ... we're all now looking at a £250 shadow on our accounts, have no confirmations and DSG say more stock arrives next week. NO ... more is incorrect - they never had stock but, instead pretended they did so they look like they fulfilled their "stock before the weekend" committment ...

Sorry ... I've waited for and lived every moment of the Vega's launch ... something smells fishy and not even a nights sleep has put my mind at rest ... finding this thread here has just served to increase my level of doubt.

My bet is that we don't see this communication until they ACTUALLY receive stock whatever day that is but, they have to be hoping that is soon...

Looks like I have missed the boat on this batch then. Don't get paid for another week or so, hopefully we will see some more reviews and hands on between now them getting some more stock in.

I'm not sure they did in truth - I think theres a confusion in the terminology used. I have an order acknowledgement but, at the bottom it states;

What happens next?

We will email you again when you order is confirmed. All orders are subject to stock availability.

I can't see why one person wouldn't have had a confirmation though ... if things were on the up an up. Sure their warehouse will have been busy but, based on my timings ... if someone ordered at 8:30 then there card would have been processed at the latest 9:30 (even earlier as no backlog) and they would have been the first pick in the warehouse ... so who were they ... hmmm

BTW - It's a long time since SPV's eh .... LOL (you might remember me now).

Right ... just off the phone.

DSG didn't receive any stock at all - NONE.

Yesterday they sold the first delivery out (and even 4 more than they should have). Stock shows as being due in next week, cash in ringfenced and we all now have to await contact when they can fulfil our orders.

Can't say I told you so but, ..... don't wait in on Monday .... Tuesday ... Wedne...

SPV`s sheesh thats going back some can remember mine, so slow now lol

Tell me about it ... I worked for ORA and helped O2 launch the XDA & Orange the SPV ... even remember writing the manuals for O2's launch of TomTom (when no-one knew who they were - not even me) ...

Still ... working for ORA taught me a few things about "virtual stock" ... LOL.

What your saying is believable and it wouldn't surprise me that this company would do such a thing. Stock was promised to be on shelf's this weekend. They wouldn't want people go of to other sites/shops and spending their hard earned cash anywhere else.

I would have even parted with my money and pre-ordered it if I had the option so whey didn't they have a pre-order option ??? 15000 devices would have gone as quickly I think.

Can you explain why some of us got a call from Dixons asking us to confirm our order details ?

I'm still holding out for a Tuesday delivery (because its the only day I have to leave the house) sods law !

I don't work for them and until I rang them it was all conjecture so I can't say why the call from Dixons - suggest it was something legitimately to do with card authorisations or perhaps their website misfired and doubled up the orders. At a guess they probably asked peope to confirm their order quantities ... and it would also serve as a plausible reason for delays - especially when those called post/tweet/blog about it....

Pre-order - their website has just been overhauled to be more aesthetically pleasing but, I suggest it's functionality is simplistic at the very least - the fact that they had to amend the description to advise of availability would support that.

As an aside, I am interested in where the 15000 devices suggestion you made comes from - where's your source for that my love ?

I can't find a single report of a confirmed order. Not one. If anyone had a confirmation I think they'd be bleating about it if this is so popular.

All those who've ordered - ring them and ask ... "Have you received stock"... I did and they told me they hadn't.

BTW - suggest those that ordered are likely social media types so yes they would be shouting about it.

So if we'd known Advent Vega was only pre-order yesterday who would have waited for stock in store - that's the choice they took from you.
