Guest Cribby Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 (edited) Hello! I just got my SF and I really like it. I played with it for some minutes with the stock rom and everything worked perfectly. But I wanted to root it and put in the custom rom. So I followed Pauls videoguide. The superuserapp was there. I put the rom directly to the SD (by browsing through Windows) and changed it to mcri-system.tar.gz . Restarted the phone and it's stuck on the green android :) What should i do now? I have tried some recovery through fastboot. Could someone here please do a step by step guide what i should do now? Do I have to remove the mcri-system.tar.gz file from the SD card first? PLEASE HELP! UPDATE: I'm now in the ClockworkMod Recovery mode. What can i do here? :) Edited October 12, 2010 by Cribby
Guest Afrodude Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Please only post in one place in about the same issue in future. Did you download the files today or have you had them a while? The MCRI method has been "super-seeded" by the "ClockworkMod Recovery" method. Follow this guide through and all should be fine.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I have had the files since yesterday. Now I only need to know how to put the .zip file on the sdcard when I'm not able to boot correctly. :) Do I need to buy a SD card reader or are there any other possibilities? Guest Afrodude Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 With the Clockwork method you can load any .zip file located on your SD card. If you downloaded yesterday the MCRI files would have been replaced already.
Guest Cribby Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 (edited) I only have the mcri-system.tar.gz file on the sd card which is not a .zip file. EDIT: Solved the problem by placing the card into my old HTC Tattoo and the deleting the old mcri-system.tar.gz.flashed and uploading the update.zip. The phone works now! :) Edited October 12, 2010 by Cribby
