Guest Lex_Fury Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Hi guys, looking for a bit of help here if poss :) Used to use Widgetplus but got sick of the lag and RAM use so switched to Titanium. 2 problems though... 1. The 'text' shortcut (either on Today screen or 'Text' on Start Menu) all link to tmail.exe instead of the Samsung skinned one I want to use...the only way to access this is via Widgetplus homescreen or Samsung Today...have tried messing with registry like replacing tmail.exe with mms.dll but no luck. In previous firmware the 'Text' start menu link always went to Samsung SMS app. 2. for some reason only a few Titanium panels like Music, Photo, Text and clock work....pretty much all the others listed in CHome editor 1.6 don't work. Most Cxxx ones and all Sxxxx ones. Would like a link to samsung-skinned SMS here, phone bar, shortcut bar etc... I'm using twu2's JH2 6.5.3 light ROM. Cheers for any tips with this
Guest Lex_Fury Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 OK fixed start menu shortcut problem...just changed shortcut to SMS-MMS.exe, all other issues remain though...
Guest asus535 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 You have to options: (1) Use, Omnia compatible panels (uses Splugins_480x800.cpr file) from here: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=findpost&pid=1129263 or (2) Make your titanium panel generic one (uses Titanium_480x800.cpr file) by doing below, and use generic wvga panels For changing from Splugins to Titanium cpr files do the following: - copy Splugins_480x800.cpr file to your desktop and rename it to Titanium_480x800.cpr. Copy the file back to \Windows folder of your device - edit the following registry keys: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Chome Keys: CPRFile, ExtensibilityXML, DefaultXML peplace "Splugins" with "Titanium"
Guest Echo30 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 If you download the Home Customizer from the Windows Marketplace, it will give you an option to use either the Samsung text panel, or the Microsoft text panel. Same goes for email and some other things.
Guest Lex_Fury Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Hi asus535 I tried the second choice first just to see if I could use standard panels and it pretty much worked - splugins was about 20kb bigger than titanium - now CEmail and CAppointments work. Some other panels don't though - like CHome or CMessage - not a big problem but have any idea why? I installed the latest CHome.cab that came with this JH2 firmware, so i'm guessing it's all there.... Will try messing with Samsung panels to work in a bit after playing with the app suggested by Echo30 (thanks mate).
Guest Lex_Fury Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Just tried the app - fantastic - now got weather/app panels, just what I wanted! Cheers!
