Cross-posted (by a slow typist) but I'll let it stand.

Umm, guess your attention has been elsewhere! There are quite a lot of posts actually, and a thread was even mistakenly started about privacy ...

I gather that the problem was that it was trying to call home by sms (with all manner of info from the phone) and when that failed it killed its own radio ... Nailing the ZTE app responsible allowed the radio section of the phone to work just fine.

Since then, Stephen posted his working (alpha) rom, there was this brief panic about the alpha maybe phoning home, people have discovered some fixes and workarounds (dedicated thread), gforums has posted a version of Stephen's rom with those fixes applied ... and (Market problems aside) people are enjoying using it.

Well, if you really MUST ... :)

The other area for you to check ASAP is the Kernel source thread.

Seems the 2.1 source has been published (today).

Oh and the Chinese (2.2) Blade seems to have got its approvals and is now "good to go". So hopefully we'll see a production rom soon.

It doesn't really get much simpler than this phone.. Possibly one of the easiest phones to root, along with installing custom roms to. No offence, but if you still can't figure it out from all the help on this forum, then you should just keep the phone standard. Paul

Alot has happened :)

The cause of the radio issues was the rom trying to "Phone Home" (Send a text to china) when it couldn't it shut down the radio

There is much better documentations kicking around.. But I missed those as well

Any chance we could get some MoDaCo magic down here? :)
