Guest weba Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Seriously mate, the difference in responsiveness is negligible when you consider the protection a screen cover will offer. That + sock = win. On another note, for anyone still debating whether to get the sticker that flibblesan has mentioned and snapped in this thread, I just recieved mine in black - from the same seller - and thought I'd show off the alternative:
Guest dav_dako Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 liking the black android - stealth android :P
Guest weba Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Yeah Stealth Android rocks :D I got black and green but will defo stick with the black. Might even order more (and smaller) cos I'm an anal bastard and I put the sticker on about 1/16th of an inch left-of-center :P
Guest Gary F Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 I would like to buy that one, let me know about green color quality and size, I am also looking for logo name 'Android by Google' if you find anywhere let me know Than ks Urvish Mine arrived the next day! Very impressive for £1.50 for 2 stickers and free postage. Well done to the seller, andywt. He has some other The colour is good, although if anything I think it's very slightly brighter than the official Android green, but let's not split hairs. He has some fun ones like Android eats/trashes Apple and a cool motorbike one. Link here.
Guest Gary F Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 can anyone recommend a good rubber / silcon case? I bought the Nokia E71 transparent black jelly case for £1.99 inc postage. It was delivered the very next day. It fits perfectly but the hole for the micro USB port doesn't quite line up perfectly - it's about 2mm out. But because it's a rubber case I simply push the USB connector down slightly to stretch the case as I insert it. After doing it a couple of times it's a piece of cake and not a problem at all. The holes for the volume buttons are on the wrong side, but they are still 100% operational, not usability problem at all. The 3 buttons at the bottom of the phone are slightly covered up by the case, but they are still accessible and work with each press. The power button at the top is covered by the case but doesn't impede its operation. Although if the case is too tight when you first fit it then it will turn your phone on/off unexpectedly. A bit of pushing around of the phone inside the case seemed to fix it. It provides no protection for the screen but the point of this case is to protect the phone from nasty drops while giving instant access to the touchscreen without any lids, flaps, or transparent plastic windows. Overall I'll give it 8/10.

Stuck the black one on then realised there was a tiny bit of the orange logo showing. So ripped it off and threw it away. Need to order another now :D

Guest goods Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 This case fits perfectly, the clip is removable. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Actually I think the microphone is exposed because there is an opening for the string handle thing that you can attach to the E71 if you want. Can anyone confirm whether the little hole on the bottom left is the microphone? Phone string example: Edited October 26, 2010 by meinnit
Guest The Soup Thief Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...%3D1&_rdc=1 item no - 270636690874 Just received my neoprene case and screen protectors from some guy in Hong Kong via ebay Fits like a lovely little glove, with a fetching little Android motif and everything! All for 2 quid! Excellent edit - Gulp - sorry - auction ended on that - they're nice though, if anyone else can find them on sale... Edited October 26, 2010 by The Soup Thief

Can anyone confirm whether the little hole on the bottom left is the microphone? If that is the microphone then it is where the power socket is on the E71, the lanyard attachment is further round the casing to the left.

Can anyone confirm whether the little hole on the bottom left is the microphone? I've just remember what those "string handle things" are called.... wrist straps! So yeah the E71 case has an opening for the wrist strap connector in the bottom left where it seems that the SF microphone is conveniently located. Why they put the opening on the back and not the front where your mouth is, I have no idea!

I reckon that little hole is the microphone. It's on the left hand side if looking from the front.
Guest ndubz Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 I'd say rather than mess about cutting, just buy this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=130399099161 Fits like a glove. (See my pics on page 1). :P Hi i really wanna get this case but wanna know one thing, does this have a magnetic flap thing?? coz i heard magnetic flap cases ruin phones. thanks
Guest Face_ Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Hi i really wanna get this case but wanna know one thing, does this have a magnetic flap thing?? coz i heard magnetic flap cases ruin phones. thanks I've got this on order and it does say it has a magnetic flap. My current case is a sideways one with two small magnets to hold the cover - doesn't appear to have upset the phone so far.

Guest Borderland Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 I got one of these....not a bad fit, to be honest. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=130399099161 Just received mine today. Very pleased. Thanks for pointing me in this direction. Unfortunately I had already ordered the same pouch the OP warns against (from zoo-online) before I read this thread. You are right, it is terrible. How are they allowed to advertise this plastic rubbish as being leather? Sent back Return to Sender for refund.
Guest islandofshame Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 alrite, just picked up my SF yesterday, been reading about to see what to do case wise. ended up opting for a cheeky del boy phone sock which I think looks cracking...will post up some pics when it arrives to let you know what its like, fingers crossed it will cover the entire phone :) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WEENICONS-DEL-BOY-MO...=item27b5b0d651 cheers guys - islandofshame :)
Guest misterLjay Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 This thread has been very helpful, got my SF on Tuesday and today recieved a Nokia E71 case and Samsung i900 screen protectors from ebay, both fit perfect. Cheers.
Guest Cooperuk Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...#ht_2254wt_1139 is what I got for the missus (in purple) and it is much better than my silicon cover and it does not cover the lower buttons. So much so I have ordered one for myself...
Guest tabor56 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 thats perfect. i tried to cut mine like that but didnt work at all. do they come in black?
Guest tabor56 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 this one looks good http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Quality-Grey-Skin-Si...b#ht_1317wt_905
Guest lpinho Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Hi, This is my first Post here and I'd like to say "Hi!" and Thanks for this great Forum and your custom Roms! Also I'd like to use this opportunity to issue a word of warning regarding "Black Leather Case Cover Pouch Orange fit San Francisco" from "1smltd". I just bought two of them (stupid me!) and this is what I received: I don't think it requires further comments... eBay doesn't even allow to leave negative feedback earlier than 7 days after the auction... :) If someone can recommend a proper fitting case, that would be appreciated. Thanks! raph Hi raph84, I bought the same case and although it looks big outside the case, it fits perfectly... If I take a picture to mine, the proportions are exactly the same has yours, but the SF fits just right

I am particularly interested in the headphone and USB sockets. Thanks :) Edited October 29, 2010 by meinnit
