If i have a modified battery icon will this overwrite it?

It will, if the battery icon is in framework-res.apk. You will need to pull the images from my compiled framework-res.apk and put them into framework-res.apkassets/images and re-sign the zip.

Thanks guys, keep the thread clean. Don't quote images where possible. Threads get hugggge and messy. If people post bootscreens they would like put a number beside them or something so people can identify them easy. Heads up, theres a few more coming :)

@jimmy2x2x good find.....

I've been having a little trouble trying to do that. Not just for battery icon but for one of the themes from the framework factory thread. Here's what I've been doing:

1. I extract your zip, then extract framework-res.apk to a temp folder with 7zip.

2. Do the same for the theme's zip and framework-res.

3. Copy the images from yours over to the other temp folder.

4. Put that in a zip with no compression with 7zip.

5. Rename the zip to framework-res.apk

6. Put the folder's contents (/meta-inf and /system I think) back into a zip, again no compression (dunno if this make a difference)

7. Install

This just results in it getting stuck on the green android logo.

What am I missing/doing wrong?

Edit:correct stuff

@IronDoc

# What you are doing is pulling all files out, which is not te way to do it. Use 7zip you can open your framework-res.apk (Pull your framework-res.apk from your phone) directly and drag the files you require into the correct location. Use one of my bootscreen files, overwrite the framework-res.apk and re-sign it. You will need to remember to sign the file otherwise because it's a system file Android OS does a check and if it's a different file it won't overwrite it. Hope you can understand this as I know it's complex.

@x.balli.x

# You also need to do the above.

01: Just pull the images from mine (framework-res.apk/assets/images)

02: Open your framework-res.apk with 7zip (don't extract framework-res.apk)

03: Overwrite new images (in your framework-res.apk)

04. Push your modified framework-res.apk to one of my bootscreens above (system/framework/framework-res.apk)

04: Re-sign zip

05. Push to /sdcard

06. Update via Clockwork Recovery

Cheers idroid84 , sounds a bit too technical for my noobish brain , Ive asked seb if he plans to make his rom compatable with your boot logo`s using clockwork , (not even sure that question makes any sense) lol

He can't, because you lot are using graphical change frameworks it's just not possible. Graphics are taken from all over the place and when you start and add this, add that it gets hard to make things compatible. It's eitha this or that. It gets complex.

For you few guys I will try something, tell me which bootscreen you want & link me YOUR framework-res.apk. I will modify the files needed to test.

Very strage because that's your framework packed with the needed files. Are you using the stock framework-res.apk from R4 404 or have you had something else overwritting this file from another pack? Theres issues somewhere because it should work fine.

The origional framework-res.apk was taken from R4-ModaCo ROM. Maybe there is issues somewhere.

Anyone who downloaded iDroid84_Bootscreen008_signed.zip download again.

I have had to make a change to the end frames, which resulted in corruption, fixed now.

Sorry about that.

Excelent work :)

props to you....

Thanks, more work to come shortly! Hope everyone is OK with these bootscreens. I am making basic ones to start with. If anyone likes any bootscreen for any other phone please post and I will try my best to convert. I am going to make a Samsung Galaxy S bootscreen shortly, awaiting for the boot pack.

Do you have any plans to add the custom battery to your boot screens m8? as I have your droid-apple one on.
