Guest buntoid Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 At the moment I'm running my San Fran with R4 and the Desire V2 framework mod. I've copied the framework-res.apk from my phone and uploaded it to the UOT Kitchen but I keep getting this kind of error: + WORKING_DIR=UOT-ZC-10-21-08-07-2 + java -Xmx64m -jar ./tools/apktool.jar d data/working_dir/UOT-ZC-10-21-08-07-2/framework/framework-res.apk data/working_dir/UOT-ZC-10-21-08-07-2/temp/fw_dec I: Loading resource table... Which rom should I tell the kitchen I'm using as there isn't an option for the Modaco one, so I chose the cyanogen cm6? Any help would be much appreciated.
Guest idroid84 Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 @buntoid # I am unsure about the UOT kitchen, however what is it your trying to do exactly?
Guest buntoid Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) @buntoid # I am unsure about the UOT kitchen, however what is it your trying to do exactly? The UOT Kitchen is at UOT Kitchen I want to add to the Desire V2 theme: a colourful circle battery, Galas 3d icons and a number of modifications to the notification bar. I also want change the boot screen to the pulse one. Edited October 21, 2010 by buntoid
Guest DeDroid Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 First off, thanks iDroid84! :D Loved Pauls ROM but really wanted to change the bootscreen animation. I've been using one of the ones you've posted but decided to make my own (well sort off...not my art :D) Anyways I have all 24 images...named exactly the same way they are in the framework-res.apk/ The only thing is I dont know how to flash these...I tried taking your apk file...extracting it...replacing only the images...converted to a .zip and then renamed to .apk. and replaced the framework-res.apk file in your .zip. I did this because I thought I wouldnt have to sign it....I have no clue what signing is....long story short...it didnt work. So my question is...If I have the right format, filenames and size of the 24 png's....how can I get them to my phone (I am an absolute beginner...so if you could explain step by step that would be much appreciated :P thanks Im on r4 btw

Replace the images and then put it back into the zip. Don't start changing file extensions. Just drop your images right into my framework-res.apk, push framework-res.apk back into it. Use 7zip :P PLZ Zip up your PNG's and give me a link :D Edited October 21, 2010 by idroid84

Guest Stryke69 Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 @iDroid: I like the images submitted by DeDroid too. Could you make a bootscreen out of it? Thanks!
Guest DeDroid Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) @iDroid: I finally figured out why we couldnt get those png's to work...either they need to all be the same bit depth (my images vary) or they all have to be 32bit. I saved all the images as 32bit and that seemed to do the trick! :D Thanks for trying to help me out mate @iDroid: I like the images submitted by DeDroid too. Could you make a bootscreen out of it? Thanks! hey I've attached the working images now...all you'll need to do to get it to work is replace the png's in one of iDroid's boot animations with these (use 7zip to open the .apk...then just delete the old png's and drag and drop these into it...dont try to extract and recompress anything...trust me :P) Let me know how you get onDeDroid_DarkBoot_pngs.zip Edited October 22, 2010 by DeDroid

Guest Teh H4rRy Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) I have just done a backup with Clockwork Mod, it seemed to back up a lot. If this messes up can I use clockwork to restore and fix it? Scrap that, I installed it. It works beautifully! I am using the Energy Star one and I love it! Nice work Droid! Err, nope, try it yourself, you might like it :P I just noticed my screenshot was taken when the phone was plugged in, so you can't see the battery indicator properly. Here's another, but showing the battery indicator :D

Guest Lew247 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Can I ask what the difference between the eariler zips you did and the one for Southpaw was? I have tried to do this mod with my phone for a couple of days, I tried the original rom, the orangeinated rom, the Mocado R4 rom and nothing worked, the bootscreen stayed exactly the same Yet now I've tried the one you did for Southpaw, it works perfectly and I've reloaded all the roms and they all work perfectly with that file So.. what's the difference? Also any idea how to change the static Green Android first boot image? I'd like to put a photo of the user and a contact number in case the phone is stolen on there, might act as a reason for someone to hand it in if its ever lost.
Guest Rower85 Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Wao, loved the battery thingy :)
