damaged LCD connectors

While opening my Omnia II for the umpteenth time, i accidentally 'scratched deep' the PCB board of the LCD. I feared for the worst as they are quite hard and expensive to replace, but -- putting it back in -- everything works perfectly and there are no problems...

...apart for one: Whenever the LCD 'resumes' (by pressing the lock/unlock button, or while booting) there will be small artifacts (like white lines) almost like rows of dead pixels, which then disappear immediately and then the screen works perfectly.

It is more a nuissance than a problem because it only happens on lock/unlock and not while the phone is being used.

What did I destroy exactly, and why does it work completely -- minor this small problem? O_o
