KIES tells me it's: GT-19000 PDA:JM1 / PHONE:JM1 /CSC:JM1 2.1-updadate1 ECLAIR.I9000XXJM1 Seen mention of Froyo, but don't know how that relates to any of data above. Froyo versions are 2.2 Get familiar with your phone first, do some reading and you can upgrade to Froyo if you like. Froyo version hasn't been released yet for all countries. Check your Kies from time to time to see if the the Froyo 2.2 JPM/JP6 is available, if you want to wait for the official release in your country, or download and use one of the roms available at XDA.
