ok guy girls etc i have updated the guide with pics and easy instructions i really can't see how you can mess this up its as easy as 123. Please let me know how you found the guide i am constantly updating it if you would like anything adding or find something confusing please let me know.

hi mate - i cant get better terminal to fire up..tried v2.15 and the latest version...but doesnt launch...any ideas why ? ta

i would do a factory reset first and then root the phone and try install again send me a email with your email address and irl send you my vershion of better terminal.

just reading the tut...to make sure i dont brick the phone, however i dont understand:

"step 9 download the Debranded rom here http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-san-francisco/

copy the update.zip rom to root on sd card enter custom recovery in step 8 above and choose option to update from sd card and chose the update.zip you copied to root."

ive downloaded the debranded rom which is 61.5MB in size......i dont understand where the "update.zip" rom is ?.....do i simply copy the entire 61.5MB file that i have downloaded to the root of the sd card or is it the contents of the file that i have download to the sd card.....the files in the zipped 61.5 MB file are 2 folders "META-INF" and "system folder"......just a little confused ..lo

Ok i have edited step 9 and made it abit more clear as to rename the file you downloaded to update.zip thanks for the feedback just makes the tutorial better and better.

- looks like i messed up somewhere...anyway i done the following step..

"step 8 Once done exit better terminal and reboot phone whilst holding down volume button and the power button it boots into custom recovery. Note keep the buttons held down untill you see the recovery menu don't let go of buttons or you will just get green boot logo loop if you messed up restart the procedure."

the phone wont boot into custom recovery no matter how long i hold down the buttons..pulled battery but only getting greem android..

ignore what i said above....seems like it didnt flash the "recovery /sdcard/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.9-modaco-r2-blade.img"....thought it did....now the phone is back as normal...must be something i missed lol....after youve flashed this image in better terminal....do you get any message to say that the file is flashed.....i think all i got after entering the filename as in the tut and pressing enter was just the "#"

you dont get anything it only takes a few seconds if you type it all in as you should it is done you need to hold the down volume button down and power and keep them pressed untill the recovery menu appears thats how you know it has worked.

when i press su i get access denied and can u send me ur version i dont know if mine is correct i got super user installed i cant even do normal way i get blue screen of death on my pc ... oh and der is clock work in app store can i use that ? oh and i use better terminal pro 3.23

You can debrand without any ROMs now which is useful, I've posted a topic. Though the one thing I cant do without a new ROM is getting the Orange Internet to be Googles instead?!?!

I would say yes and looks better please read the guide word for word it is tried and tested working many times by me and others

Hi Jutley,

I have to say this tutorial worked an absolute treat for me. No issues what so ever, I would say to people just read it slowly and think about what you are doing at each stage. This is probably the easiest way to get a custom ROM on a virgin San Francisco. One suggestion would be to provide one zip on the front page that contains all the required apks for people to prepare their SD card in advance. But awesome work!

If you're still looking for feedback on the guide, adding some punctuation and intendation will help a great deal in understanding it. :)

Especially beginning with step 9.

Appreciate your work though, I'm sure it'll be a great help once I finally can get my hands on a SF.

I really wanted to say a BIG Thanks for producing this clear guide to flashing the SanFran.

Took the plunge after having one for a few days and it worked fine.

Now I just need to find a real easy guide to getting A2SD working and I'll be a really happy bunny
